Seems to me that military folks just love flashy cars in general, I rarely see a single soldier driving something thats just a "daily driver", lately the camaro seems to be the option of choice, but theres alot of us military folk that love our Z's for sure.

Lemers 05-23-2010 07:27 PM

I'm also seeing a lot of hyundia genesis coupes on post.

Soon to be USAF. I found out that I was allocated an Acquisitions slot. Not too happy about it, but hey, the military's needs come first, so I can live with it.

all income in a battle zone is tax exempt, and there really is nothing to spend your money on, so its easy to accumulate a lot of cash.

It's usually a little longer than 3 months, even for USAF. Army is 15 months or so!

Lemers 05-24-2010 01:13 PM

I know how deployment pay work (Iraq 12 months). It was more of a jab at air forces 3 month deployments.

The last tax free trip was 14mo + 2@ Ft. Riley for training. This will be #5 in 8.5 years. Lets not fall into stereo types here.

animal_solo 05-24-2010 01:29 PM

I was out there filling in for your boys since you cannot seem to keep enough 25R/W/B in stock. Its all good though. I love this job.

Prosport Gauges 05-24-2010 02:07 PM

deff saved alot when i was deployed and all tax free

Mike 05-24-2010 02:14 PM

what really surprised me was that while my wife and I were vacationing in San Diego last Halloween, whe met a young navy gunners mate who had just returned from a year in Afghanistan. Never thought we sent our ship types over there.
