Just a little article in the local paper here today. Thought I'd post it up as a reminder of the dangers of street racing. Keep it safe and on the strip folks. I applaud the "no street racing themed thread rule" on this site.

Not that I'm pro-street-racing, I think street events like this are stupid, but I feel I have to mention what the article hints at (but I'm sure won't be followed up on): that the accident occurred when the cops showed up and turned on the lights and sirens in the middle of a race. If their purpose is really to save lives by stopping this activity, they could at least be a little smarter about it and not contribute to a fatal accident.

Anyway, (from my understanding) the only people who died were spectators to illegal street races, standing on the shoulder of the fuckin highway? Good riddance idiots.

You'd seriously think people would be smart enough to basically avoid standing in the middle of a drag strip. These fools would probably walk in front of the finish line and lay down.

I doubt the world is getting any better with technology nowadays. More or less it's probably just making a lot of people lazier. For us Z owners, we're using this marvel of technology to good use; not racing on the street. And not standing in front of racing cars on a freeway.
