Theodore Kaczynski, (aka, unabomber) did pretty good! The authorities were way off the trail on finding him! Ted's brother gave the FBI a tip on who the unibomber may be! With out that tip, I doubt if he would have been caught!

Yeah, there may be some key differences here though. Ted had a cabin in the woods. Yeah, it was off the grid, but it was permanent shelter. Ted also didn't have people looking for him until the end. Also, the era was different. A lot of technological advances have been made since Ted was hanging in the woods in the 70 - early 90s.
