There's a reason as to why car salespeople have a negative connotation attached to them.

Been a month since starting the new job, and absolutely IN LOVE with it. The days go by fast and the weeks go by faster.

Left my previous job the same day of giving notice, and felt very liberating to just walk out.

Nothing worse than trudging off to a job you hate. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.

Yes, I understand, my GF and I have had a long distance relationship the last 10 years.

Thought it would be fun to post some of my dealer dealings so far. If ya'll find this obnoxious or boring, let me know and I'll stop.

I found a brand new 2023 Rogue that is still in transit. I realize it's coming from Japan, but WTF?? The 2024's have been out for 3 months already...

Anyway, I call to inquire... $11,000 off the sticker price. $42,000 down to $31,000. So far so good.

Ask dealer for lease payment. Looking for 0 down 36 month, 12000 miles a year and I'm pre-approved by Nissan credit for way more than what this should cost. I give the salesman my Nissan finance confirmation number so I don't get my credit dinged. Salesman says they will have their finance manager get me numbers...

Three hours later, get a text for FINANCING numbers. I explain once again that I want LEASE numbers. He apologizes and says he'll get back to me...

An hour later he sends over lease numbers starting with $2000 and going up to $6000 down... I explain again that im not putting anything down, it's a lease! He says he'll get back to me.

1.5 hours later he sends me lease numbers with 0 down... looks enticing until I notice the lease is for 10,000 miles a year ansld not the 12,000 I need... I text him back...

Finally get his number and it's $120 a month more than what their payment calculator says... I ask why...

Finally was told that "they take care of their own first" I ask what that means? Loyal Nissan buyer? Someone who has bought from your dealership before? My skin color? My religion?

He hung up...

MZ DAIZY 05-02-2024 10:07 AM

As a side note, my residual on my 2023 Rogue with 15,000 miles on it, is $36,000. I asked dealer what they can do on that number. Maybe I'll buy it. Dealer said "it is what it is". I said, OK, but I can buy a brand new 2023 with 14,950 miles LESS on it for $31,000. How does that make sense? Once again, was told "it is what it is". :rofl2:

After much kicking and screaming, went to visit my Nissan dealer in person. Pull up and there are at least 5 salespeople standing outside the door waiting to pounce...

Bottom line is after almost 3 hours, my best option was buying a stripped down Altima for $30,000.

I don't want to hear chit about how nobody is buying cars. I need a shower.... 🙄

Next up, going to try Mazda.

We were going to lease a new car for the wifey. The numbers that they advertise on TV is no where close to what the dealer is saying. We ended up buying a car.

Yea, no joke.. I'm still hoping someone will come to their senses and realize I just want to rent a car for a couple of years. All I want to do is kick the can down the road for a couple of years.

So far, so good on the mazda. We're close...

Worked for a huge printing company back in my yute. I think I was 23 YO... first day, I clock in 15 minutes early and get to my press and start prepping... everyone in the place was staring at me like I had three eyes.. manager comes up to me and says if I ever start that press before the buzzer goes off I was fired. I quit on the spot and left. 2 days later they called me back with almost double my pay. Lasted 6 more months before I went out to lunch and never went back. Worst 6 months of my life.

My former manager was an absolute piece of sh!t, and I made it very obvious that I did not like nor respect this individual as a manager or person.

PSA: Life is too short. If you hate your job and/or have to really try hard beyond a reasonable amount of effort to go into work, it's time to look elsewhere.

Life is too short to be doing bullsh!t you don't like or putting up with it.

Whoever said "you can't judge a book by its cover" was a dumb@$$. You ABSOLUTELY can:

1. I wish each person would come with a 30-second preview. That way, I know what I'm getting myself into.
2. If I had to choose between reading a food magazine or a nudie magazine, I would know which magazine is which by the cover. (And I would absolutely choose the nudie magazine.)

The fact that he had to "get back to you" multiple times would have made me go to another person. If people stall/pause/hesitate/stumble their words/need to "get back with you" or otherwise give you some bullsh!t response, it's usually because they need to come up with a gameplan to their benefit, esp. when their math and numbers don't add up. At the end of the day, they need to sell a product and you are wanting that product. If I was in sales, I would rather cut the bullsh!t and save time and work on 3 deals in that timeframe vs wasting time and working on 1.

You have to do what's best for you. Despite what the fake news reports, it all depends on a person's individual situation. Feds won't be cutting rates anytime soon, but that doesn't mean people should put their lives on hold.

It's infuriating. I even gave them an out. I told them how much wanted to spend and tell me what you want to sell me. They wouldn't even do that.

Still working on the Mazda deal. My post was misleading. I didn't buy anything, that's what they offered. A stripped out Altima for $400 a month - 72 months. Thanks, but no thanks!
