So, my niece is 12yo and she likes cars. She mentioned she'd like to go on the track. So i took her to a small racetrack nearby just to give her a taste of it. She said she loved it, although her expression tells me otherwise :D

It's actually a go-kart track, though they allow cars to go on it, as it's wide enough and it's always organized in stints so that it's never more than 6 cars max at the same time. It's fairly short, but has lots of nice corners to practice racing lines or drifting, so it's super easy on the brakes, but an oil cooler is a must, as the car can easily overheat as you never exceed 70mph and you can't actually cool it a lot.

JNews86 06-12-2023 06:31 AM

Lets hope the Nuggets close it out tonight.

Man, i wish we south floridians had a track like that, that would be really neat. The closest track around here is homestead and sebring.. you're lucky to have that resource.

And you're right, an oil cooler is a must have track or no track.

i'll post more in my topic regarding my Nürburgring trip, but just here while on topic, funnily, this small track with a lot of corners and relatively small high speeds, will make my oil come to 110°C if I really push it for 10 laps in a row, whereas the Nürburgring, which is notorious for really torturing cars, wouldn't make my oil go over 105°C and I was driving it pretty well. Just goes to show how important having actual airflow also is to cooling components.

After 8 months of job hunting, where I have been rejected by companies, where I have been rejecting job offers, where I have been on 56 interviews to date since the time of searching (5 of which were from this past week alone), I have narrowed down to 3 offers. One of the offers, I accepted 2 weeks ago and the start date is this coming Friday, but will likely tell them that I am rescinding the acceptance.

Going from commission to a W2 salary employee, the pay cut is noticeable, BUT, I will have my life and sanity back.

Human pin cushion tells me I'm rude. I laugh.

Comes time to pay and PHW got weepy when I wouldn't leave a tip. Told me I was a horrible human being. LOL!

There's the problem right there lol should've went to Publix.

And I've always wondered about tipping etiquette when it came to picking up. I personally don't ever tip if I'm in line, ordering/building, and then taking out. I mean why? They're paid to build to order my food so what did they do to earn it?

"Obesity changes the brain, with ‘no sign of reversibility,’ expert says."

It could be a number of reasons, whether too scared to start, not knowing where/how to start, laziness, procrastinating, too cold, too hot, raining, snowing, etc., if you are not working out/exercising, the best time to start is NOW. Start off slow and work your way up gradually. You don't need fancy clothes, equipment, or a gym membership. A simple walk around your neighborhood can go a long way.

For anyone out there thinking it's easy for us fit people......it's not. Trust me, I am in same pain, suffering and tears as much as you are, or the fat dude over there. It never gets easier. You just get faster/stronger. But the pain is always the same, and that's ok.

Being "in shape" has the "ice berg" affect in my opinion. Folks only see 10% of the overall puzzle when looking at someone's physical appearance. The other 90% is self discipline with diet/sleep, consistency in diet and workouts, proper meal/workout planning, setting short term goals, pain from either muscle fatigue or injuries, etc. Working out isn't always something I look forward to, but I know I'll feel better afterwards.
