Well I hope you boys had a better day than me. Got rear ended in the Z on my way home from work coming to a stop at a stoplight. Early 2000’s f150 smacked me pretty dam good. Lower back sore a little bit, sure will feel it tomorrow. Dealing with insurance tomorrow along with getting checked out. Was some 19 year old girl driving I take it she was texting or straight up not paying attention. Oh well, shiet happens.

Definitely get checked out, gonna be sore tomorrow/today for sure. Insurance will take care of the car but what a headache.

The blueberry and peach are really good. I have a pack of strawberry in the fridge to try but now I'm not expecting it to be great :ugh2:

Got to take the vibrating soil compactor back before 9am. It worked great on the sand for the pool long as the sand was wet. It don't work with dry sand.

The kid took out the the rear bumper and tail gate. He bent his ford explorer right in the middle. He couldn't open up any doors. Had to climb out through the rear hatch.

All fill needs the proper amount of water to pack. It works as a lubricant and adhesive. Mid summer is the worst, we have to put thousands of gallons down to hit the compaction numbers we need.

When I first started. I thought it was wet enough. Found a dry spot and sunk it. LOL. Got the water hose out and soaked the chit down really good. All total. Made about 7 passes around it. My brother is coming over tomorrow. He's bringing Dad's old transit. We are going to shoot it with the transit to check it for being level. After that, the pool starts going up.

When he first hit me. I thought something was wrong with the truck. Then I realized that I got hit. I jump out and run to the rear of the truck. Only to see him with a cell phone in his hand. After he climbed out of the rear. He said that the brakes failed. Yea right. :rolleyes: The Explorer was totalled and had to be towed. The state trooper said that he had to be going at least 50 mph when he hit me. The trooper told me to go to the hospital to get checked out. I was feeling fine at the time. Tell you what. 2 days later. I was feeling like I got hit instead of the truck. :icon14: That lasted for over a week.

I'm wanting someone to rear end the truck again. Need a new bumper and tail gate. :rofl2:

What's important to keep level is where the pools support post go around the perimeter and would typically be supported by cement blocks in the ground...those absolutely need to be level. The sand under the pool will eventually be 'uneven' once the pool is opened from normal use. Your doing a great job for doing this by yourself... this is not a one man operation. :tiphat:

You'd get better compaction if you did it in lifts instead of throwing the whole load of sand down and trying to compact it all at once.

I don't think he went thick enough to need that. Sand can go in a foot thick and still hit 95%+ with a medium size plate packer. And most of the time less is more with sand. I've seen it fail from too much packing/too large of a packer before. Instead of packing it just shook everything loose.

Not an option. Dump truck dumped it at the edge and I had to spread it out by hand. It's hard enough to walk on without leaving marks.

And it's not like he's pouring a foundation on top of it so it's not a big deal. I retired as an inspector for the state of California. Utility trenches even had to done in lifts per state code even if they were backfilled with sand. And compaction tests were done on each lift. :icon14:
