You would be better off with a whole-home generator with automatic turn-on & shut off. It runs on natural gas and the best ones are made by Generac.

Well Happy Friday! We have made it through another week. It is payday and so now it is time to funnel money to its rightful owners lol. Getting my second COVID shot today and hoping my reaction is mild. I think this will be my last report on the nonprogress of the Z as it seems that all the forces of nature are working against me. Exchange emails with Seb a couple of days ago and he told me that he is more overloaded than ever. His righthand man and mechanic has quit and is moving to New Mexico so he is double stacked with work. I can't fcking believe it. No his fault or the other shops fault but I cannot believe my timing. It is so damn painful to see people start and finish builds and I am still hanging in fcking limbo some 27 months now. There is nothing I can do but stew in my frustration waiting on the paint to dry, water to boil and grass to grow. Three track seasons down the drain. Oh well off to the salt mine. Yawl have a better day and stay safe and sanitary.

That sucks, Bob. I wouldn't be surprised if Specialty Z & Fast Intentions pulled up stakes and moved to Arizona or New Mexico, the business climate in Cali is circling the drain. Good people are going to quit jobs in Cali and move some place where they have a hope of buying a decent home. You can't get a decent home in some parts of Cali without spending well over 500k and the 500k homes need 200k in renovations to make them livable and up to code. :eekdance:

I'll keep my fingers crossed that Seb will work miracles and get you back on the track soon.

In So Cal, 500k will get you a house in an area where you'll need bars on all your windows and you'll hear gunshots night and day. In my area, teardowns are going for 1.5 to 2 million. Tony at FI is settled into his house, I don't think he'll be moving anytime soon even though he's pretty fed up with California

Yep, I know even a couple of years ago he told me he was thinking about moving someplace else as he was growing tiered of SoCal and the expense and pace of things. Seb sounded pretty devastated about it in his email. He said he has been really stressed out over it all. I think the work is one thing but he and LJ were super close and he loss Johnathan back in September as well so his world has been rocked in a major way.

That sucks to hear. I was hoping their ad was for another mechanic in addition to LJ. LJ was a great guy, sorry to hear he left. My car is scheduled for the end of May, early June for the motor swap and tt install. I'll have to touch base with Seb and see if he want's me to take some pressure off of him and have my other shop do the install instead although Seb told me he would like to do the tt install.

JARblue 03-05-2021 10:57 AM

Sorry to hear about the additional delays, Bob

I saw the same add and thought the same thing. Seb said he has two newbies to start soon but thinks it will be a year or two before they will be up to speed. Knowing Seb he will leave that decision up to you, but because he said he wanted to do it you have your answer. He told me the same thing and I told him I would wait on him.

Yep, Tony lives in a very modest house in Woodland Hill a beautiful area. When I say modest I mean 1700 or 1800 sqrft. Because of the area it is probably close seven figures. His friends and family are all there and outside of the politics and expense of the area there no good reason to leave. Seb just bought a place about four year or so that is just incredible. His garage is bigger than the shop he works in. He got it for steal but still seven figures lol. Not gonna lie I would not leave if I lived where they do. Beach, sunny skies and great weather. You have access to any and all thing wild and mild. There is a reason Redondo is still there LOL!

Thank you brother. I just keep telling myself all things in its own time. The other side of all the delays are that it has given me time to afford to do all the upgrades and mods that have done and pay cash for it all. It will all be worth it in the end.

It's so hard to find good help out here. The owner of the shop that build both my z's has gone through many so called mechanics. There are so many car dealerships out here that all the good one's (and bad one's) are working for them. What's left is a bunch of inexperienced lazy kids that don't want to show up for work.

I'd be more than happy to wait for Seb too but when he told me he wanted to do the install, LJ was still there. He may have a change of heart now :rofl2:

Leingod 03-05-2021 02:21 PM

$450 per fender to have them painted. Minus whatever blending will cost. Ouch...

Why they got to be Black Horses? In today's climate there will be someone wanting to shelving all movies that might be taken wrong. I can't believe that those far left idiots aren't coming after Disney because Darth Vader is dressed in black and we know that all things black get labeled as evil and then there one of my other favorites, Tropic Thunder. Okay I am working on being less White!!:inoutroflpuke::wtf2:

this is true, and i considered it, but after speaking to several folk, they said for the amount of times it would be used, its not worth the cost.

Anyone going to Cancun needs to do the Floating Festival dinner boat cruise. Never drank so much CHEAP tequila in my life. Everytime you turn around. You was saluting something.

The food wasn't bad. We did this last night. Woke up with a bunch of cob webs in the skull.

I figured since my spare motor is sitting on a stand I'd do a leak down test just to be sure it's 100% healthy and it's so easy to do, why not. I don't want to buy the tester for one use so I called 2 auto parts stores to see if I could rent one. The guy at O'Reilly's auto parts say's "what's a leak down tester". Obviously they don't have one so I call Advance auto parts. I get the same response from their guy but he'll go check. He comes back on the phone and say's "we have a gas combustion" tester. :rofl2: What is it again that these guy's do for a living? :icon14:

Do it. Everyone else does it. We got people buying lawn tractors, lawn mowers, weed eaters, tile saws, you name it. Use it once and return it for a full refund. :shakes head: Ask why they return it. Normal they say it just quit. Some are just out of gas, or they cut a wire where you can't see it easily.
