12 speed instead of 10 speed. Sequential or compensating shifting.

No cables connected to the derailleurs... just looks wrong. :rofl2:

I like my mechanical shifting but it's got internal cable routing. It can be a bitch to change cables.

For a road bike, yea. For a MT bike. I wouldn't want it. When you're miles from no where in the deep sticks. I can fix a cable. That, I don't think so.

The lighter the bike. The more is costs. I've looked at bikes that were 10 grand plus. :icon14:

If you break a cable on the rear derailleur, you can rig it up to stay in one gear if you're mechanically inclined. If not, it defaults to the highest gear (smallest cog). If the battery goes dead on the rear derailleur on electronic shifting, you can use the battery from the front derailleur which doesn't get as much use as the rear and should be pretty much fully charged. That is, if you charged the batteries before you left. :rofl2:

My bike has close to 10k in parts on it and it weighs 15lbs. Not super light but it's an aero frame which is a little heavier along with 44mm wheels which adds more weight than a shallow wheel. And a power meter that's built into the crankset. I prefer a stiff frame with a stiff bottom bracket over a super light but flexy frame.

That's what I use in the garage and my job trailer. Melissa just found 2 used ones for $50 in perfect shape. I think 1 was never used and the other used only a handful of times.

Impressive on the bench. I'm about to hit 300 again, last time was in 2016. My bench really dropped when I shed a lot of weight, took a while to get it back. Pushing weight was much easier for me when I was over 200. I build deadlift and squat weight very easily, bench has always been more of a challenge. Currently running 9-12 miles per week.

Now my 'little' brother Joe on the other hand does multi rep sets in the 350s and is aiming for the 400 mark before he plateaus. But his legs and cardio are weaksauce.

I have a culinary degree. 7 courses is just tricky from a time management perspective. It can be done, but the dishes would be based more on timing to make and send out than it would be about the overall flavor.

When I was at Elliott. Elliott had gotten a Corporate membership at the local YMCA. The one machinist there. His goal was to hit 400 lbs. He said once he hits it. He's done. He hit 400 lbs, and quit. Just walked away from it. Never went back. :icon14: He was all upper body. No legs. :rofl2:

I think I'll just start with doing more walking.... it's easier on the brain. I don't have to remember all the katas and forms, just one foot in front of the other. Gotta keep it simple for this crayon-eater......:inoutroflpuke::inoutroflpuke:
