IT dudes. Is it rare for a LAN switch to go bad?

It’s on. It lights up when you have a cable plugged in. I’ve troubleshooted it to the switch best I can tell. The modem is fine, the wiring to the wall jack is good and I’m getting signal if I plug my laptop directly to the wall. Everything coming out of the switch gets nothing.

I only mentioned it because that happens so often. Yeah, its time to toss if you did all that troubleshooting.

Just grab another one or do you recommend something else?

I don’t need anything fancy. It just runs all the internet capable items on my entertainment center. Does need to be giga speed.

nah, netgear, trendnet, tp link all good choices for your basic plug n play switches.

As soon as Leo at Yunique is done with my headlights, I have an extra set of tail lights I'm sending him to do a one off build on.

Netgear with the aluminum chassis if it's around a lot of dust.

trendnet if you need something super basic with a chance of it randomly killing itself after 10+ years

tp-link if you like interconnectivity to other garbage they sell

Cisco if you like to over pay

My TP link has out lasted a whole lot of other equipment. I plug **** in and it does the voodoo so I dont have to. I have 3 managed Cisco switches here and the TPlink still gets priority. Plus the tp doesnt scream bloody murder then constant fan noise. Trendnet in the garage has been solid for a few years now too. Dusty as all hell and chugs along managing cameras and is POE to boot.

Leingod 06-21-2020 09:19 PM

Onewheel should hopefully arrive Tuesday or Wednesday. Genuinely excited for this stupid thing.

Morning friends! Hope all you mother-fuckers had a great fathers day
Enjoy your Monday, try not to spill hot coffee on your genitals, and avoid sticking sensitive body parts in machines which cut, tear, and sever.
