Set cruise control at 80 mph on the way home from the airport. Speed limit is 65 mph and as I was nearing my exit, I came up on a sedan in the left lane. The didn't move over as I approached so I moved into the middle lane to pass. It was an unmarked cruiser because as I reached his blind spot he flipped on his lights briefly. I slowed to 75 and moved over to the right hand lane and took my exit. There was another car running up on him in the left lane as I exited and on the frontage road, I saw him flash those lights again lol.

On a more somber note, RIP my dad's Porsche. As I'd mentioned to you guys in passing, he'd been restoring a 996 series 911 after years without anything more mobile than a minivan. He'd just finished replacing the seats and top, was on his way home, and smoke started filling the cabin. He pulled into a parking lot, popped the front, and saw flames. Not much in the front except wiring and the battery, so most likely a wiring issue. He couldn't get at it with his floormats, quickly called 911 (2 blocks from a fire house) but it took them more than 10 minutes to roll out by which time the whole car was just a column of flames. Heartbreaking :-/ He took it pretty well, all things considered.

im sorry bro.. this is terrible terrible news, but thank god he made it out safely.

From the heat? My brother in law in Az said that he has to water his trees a couple of times a day to keep them from bursting into flames. :icon14:

The late spring snow did my apple tree in. Only have a couple of apples on it. My pear tree isn't much better.

I thought for sure early spring weather would ruin the crop but they bounced back like a champ. Heading to the orchard for some apple cider this weekend.

One of the cities close to Seb's shop set a record of 121 degrees the other day. But, there are about 30 major wildfires out here that have burned over 2 million acres so far.

We are totally smoked in from all those fires. We are getting some a little break in the heat action the next couple of days. The high tomorrow is supposed to 76 and it will be in the 90s by Saturday.

Fortunately, the smoke has stayed away from my area. We still have some heat going on though.

They should be around $5-7 a gallon. On the bad crop years it is around $11 a gallon.

You could top it of with a Snickers and wait for the ambulance to come pick you up from a heart attack. Cut down on the junk food.
