We had one guy that got chit done super fast, but it always came back for complaints. He was forever harassing me about how slow I was, and how he made more money than I did. He left about a month after I got there, not sure where he went.....maybe to a place called Calvert's .....:ugh2:

I worked flat rate in a Chevy dealership. That flat out sucked. Had one guy. All he would do is the 350 and 400 turbo tranny's. Nothing else. He was making a killing. He could knock 3 out a week.

I've rebuilt a Ford ATX, a Turbo 125 & a Turbo 400, and it was something I disliked intensely. The ATX I laid out on a bench in the order I took it apart, replaced all the burnt/worn parts, put it back together and put it in the car. The damn car still wouldn't move. :shakes head:

Turns out, the pump drive shaft had about an inch broke off of it and the broken part was in the convertor. I fished it out with a magnet, put a new pump shaft in, put it back in the car and finally got it moving. :icon14:

I have an intense dislike for rebuilding transmissions.....:shakes head:

Food for thought=with a set of crows feet you can swap engine mounts without pulling the headers. Not really relevant in your case but I figured I'd throw it out there.

Indeed, I have the crows feet, but since I'm doing headers already, no sense in using them.

It'd be great to see you and to have the benefit of your expertise.

Our automatic transmission guy at the Ford dealership i worked at would always turn over 100 hours a week. When i first started there i had an old hand me down 69 Mustang with a worn out C4 in it that needed overhauling. He started on it about 8:30 and had it finished and back in the car at lunch time. This was 1975 and he built his first transmission in 1957.He was very fast and had very, very few comebacks.

Same with the guy I worked with. Think he would do them sleeping, standing up. Total robot.
