It is such a hard thing to do as otherwise he is strong as ever as far as body weight and he eats and drinks normally so it not like he totally deteriorated other than his mind and back end. Think about me tomorrow as our appointment is 8AM.

I just took mine to the Vet today. Found out she has a herniated disk in her spin causing nerve issues on her right rear leg. Doc gave me meds for her and said if she doesn't improve by Friday I will need to make a decision. Bay is 15 years old. This is never easy and always a heart breaker.

Yeap, they were surprised Bay was as old as she was. She is sweet too. That is very rare for a Blue Healer.

My heart goes out to you.

I had to put down a dog with similar symptoms a few years back. Asked for the vet's opinion and he said it's time when they quit greeting you at the door. Didn't make the decision any easier.

Did ya have to say that. We just lost Rockie a month ago. Now Bay is not doing well. Both always greeted me when I got home and gave lots of love. That is the hardest thing to deal with. I catch myself calling their name for a while.

Rockie
Bay Bay
Prissy Dog

I have a list. Having a uncanny memory is actually torture. I remember everything, good and bad. They call me "The Elephant" at work sometimes.
