man, mr. madwi and I had that down to a science.. we are demon bolt destroyers.

I knew what I was in for... I only had deep impact sockets (6pt and 12 pt) that kept hitting the steering rack.

I've helped on one before. Years ago. The right tools make all the difference!

The socket I busted was a cheap HF socket. Good riddance :icon17:

If I was serious that bolt would have been blasted with PB Blaster for several days prior to any real attempt. This was more of a "let's have fun with it" effort :)

I took the busted socket out to the bar afterwards. Only 2 people actually recognized what happened to it lol

I have a tapered deep impact socket that the taper married to a universal helps it go past the rack perfectly. One person holds it on straight and other tosses all their weight into the bar with 40" of extensions on it.

I have a 1/2 inch 14mm swivel socket on order. With plenty of impact u-joint swivels and extensions to accommodate any other needs... I don't foresee any issues :)

Proper tools don't require more than 24 inches of extension from what I can tell.

nah, I was exaggerating the length of extensions a bit. 24-30 is fine and gets the knuckles clear of everything under the hood.

Did any chicks slap you after you tried the ole "let me show you the socket in my pocket" routine?

I had three impact swivels and what felt like 16 feet of extensions for the driver side bolts. A real Franken-tool.
