Anyone have recommendations for a forklift rental? Looks like I'll have to rent one to unload the lift. Don't want to bother with a loading dock somewhere that's not my driveway.

It looks like a very reasonable private sale should net me $5500ish. That will cover most of the upcoming vet costs for Athena plus a new 4 post Danmar lift :D :D

Hoping to take care of the sale by the end of the year.

I think you will like the danmar! Four post or two?

I could not find an actual forklift for rent around here. I ended renting a flat bed trailer and picking it up at the shipping terminal.

Danmar D-7. Four post. The 7X is much easier to find but it's too tall for my garage :(

I was hoping to avoid that route. But just about anything is doable, frankly. Daily rentals are dirt cheap for the most part.

When you gets yours setup, I need to know the distance between the tracks on the inside of the runways. I think I can use the Danmar rolling jack with my bendpak and that would save me $600.

maybe a bobcat with forks instead of bucket is available.

I highly suggest renting or buying an engine lift for moving the one runway around. That fucker is heavy with the hydraulics under it!

JARblue 11-13-2019 08:51 PM

FWIW, when looking, I wasn't able to find a forklift for rent because I had to prove that I had a forklift driver with a license. There are options but most of them are a negotiated price for less than a week rental, which doesn't work out in my favor.

I've got several options for the runways. One is a multi-flatbed dolly setup where I can move it myself. But friends are available. Should be fine. The runways are only about 400 lbs each, so not too terrible. Two of us can manhandle it if necessary. Four will make it easy.

Engine hoist is already on the purchase list for the garage, so I may have one by then. If not, I'm not worried.

Width between runways is 37-1/2 inches :twocents:

Worst case is I'm hoping there a local active construction site that I'm working on where I can ask the guys to help out for some extra side cash. I can make it worth their while if they can get it to my house lol
