This is exactly how I parked when someone dinged my front right fender, but I parked head in. I had a little more distance than you did, but the @sshat parked over the line to where his tires were completely on my side and a little forward :shakes head:

Morning all! Working from home today on a program dealing with Environment, Health, Safety, and Ethics. It's unfortunately being flowed down to us from a large customer, with the threat of immediate audit (paid for by us) if we fail to implement. Kind of annoying to realize how often outsized programs like this are dropped on small companies, creating a dense system of bureaucracy all aimed at reducing lawsuit liability.

Lawyers are ********.

Has anyone made your employees on the floor memorize quality statements and actually ask them to recite it when the morons visit?

We had a dude actually recite this "4th General Order" to the Division Command Sergeant Major.

That was our 11th General Order "To walk my post from flank to flank and take no sh1t from any rank.

12th General Order "To report all submarines surfacing in the grinder" :rofl2::rofl2:

We had a private during boot camp get stuck on a general order during a Series Commander's inspection.:eek: He busted out #12 at the top of his lungs and the Series Commander said 'very good' and walked off....

Oh yeah. Every time we're audited for our QMS. Which means 2 weeks before the audit, I'm reminding people they're going to be asked about it.

*shakes head* That's something I honestly do not see the point in. I get the idea is to make employees more aware that we have a QMS, and that we measure things like on-time delivery and conforming product, but the vast majority are there because they have a limited number of skills, need a paycheck, and have no interest beyond that.

Heh, it represents maybe 40% of our business this year, so yes. Also this is the kind of stuff that earns me my position in the company - thus I don't regret it too much. One man's annoyance is another man's decently compensated job.

When I worked at Garmin, we had auditors come in and ask those questions. We were taught to say "yes, we have a quality system". When the auditor asked specifics, we took them to where the manual was and showed them the answer. Sometimes, knowing where to find the information is more important than memorizing something incorrectly.

Don't you love Joint Commission??!!! When I was working for the Game and Fish Department we applied for a Baldridge Award. Getting ready for that was freaking crazy.

With the updates to ISO9001:2015, auditing bodies put increased pressure on Management to be involved in the QMS (which means no more just giving the job to the QA Manager and washing their hands of it) and one aspect of that is Management promoting "Awareness" throughout the organization. There are numerous implications. First, the QMS now only rarely exists as a single manual. Second, there is a tremendous amount of substantiating information which multiple personnel have to be aware of.

Like all bureaucracy, it's getting bigger and more cumbersome. Scope creep. Most ideas in it are good, but the scale gets big in a hurry (especially with things like Risk Management).

Is there an ISO regarding strip clubs? Because I'd audit those bodies all day.

She is coming home today. :happydance:

We will have to give her fluids every other day for a while. The vet said he would be shocked if she's still around in a couple of months. :icon14:

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it wasn't her time to cross the rainbow bridge quite yet...:icon17:
