Curious, how much would shipping have been for that dude?

Yep. Wasn't really holding them for him because if someone else had come along with the money, I would have sold to them. He wanted them shipped to Delaware.

I've got a local buyer, so it's all good.

Sun is out. Time for an oil change and figure out where the oil leak is coming from. I have a suspicion its from the lines to the thermostat plate. have a great day all

What blows my mind is the thread was locked by a moderator. Those exist?

Leak or drip or mist?

My fitting have a slow mist that just wont stop. Ended up ordering all new Aeroquip hoses and fittings yesterday, hoping to fix this problem once and for all.

Not sure. I just noticed a couple oil spots that my neighbor pointed out. My last oil change I didnt see oil everywhere, which wouldve pointed to Mist. Could be the plug or the at the filter. Which oil cooler kit do you have?

Z1. I've bought a new o-ring for the therm plate, replaced the fittings and hose ends, trimmed the hoses, and never got it to stop. Finally said F it I'll replace everything.

My dos centavos, if you're misting it's probably from an interior gasket on one of the swivel fittings.

If the leak is coming from where the fitting screws into the plate (the tapered pipe thread). Two things you can use on the threads. A couple wraps of teflon pipe tape, or teflon pipe dope (paste). You never want to put anything on the taper of the fitting and the straight threads where the hose screws on.

Did you ever hear back from Joe on the diff? Competitive pricing? I'm gonna be ordering clutch and other stuff from him next week :D

bunk 04-28-2019 03:13 PM

Leingod 04-28-2019 03:34 PM

This time next weekend, I'll either be driving home with new brakes and hood vents, or old brakes and a missing hood.

If you're going with the Z1 Premium lines, make sure you have the proper hardlines front and back and also the hardline brackets for the rear. I researched the upgrade for a while and didnt see anywhere that mentioned both of those things.took forever to order those part as I realized I needed more parts

Nope. Skipped the premiums and just got the Z1 SS lines. More slack and less points of failures.

Leingod 04-28-2019 04:53 PM

If Mr. Rusty allows me on his wifi, I can stream the hood cutting moments just like the demon bolt removal from last year.

Ew earned his storage of the Z. Helped me move bandsaws and other heavy *** crap back downstairs. Made ribs in sous vide bath; 165f for 6 hours. They needed a bit more bath time I think. The turned out edible though.

I'm accustomed to 8 hrs in a bath. But I also cold smoke for 2 hrs beforehand.

7-8 hours seems to be the sweet spot. We got done a little bit early and I was hungry/tired/grumpy so we made do. It wasnt terrible but not amazing.

You need to soak the brake lines where the new hoses will connect to with BP Blaster. The last thing we need is a frozen brake line nut.

I’d agree about 8 hrs is about right.

Rusty 04-28-2019 06:04 PM

I will not be selling the Stillen brake duct kit. Found out a few things and will be using the Stillen backing plates again.

I did the driver side with the stock plate. Found out that it flexed a lot when turning the steering wheel to the left. The 3" hose would push the plate into the rotor. The stock backing plate is .032" thick and has an offset of 3/16". The Stillen backing plate is .039" thick and an offset of 5/16". So the Stillen plate is 1/8" farther away from the rotor and is a little stiffer. So I modding the Stillen plates for the 3" hose.
