the radio ad said all tools and toolboxes provided. sounded like a pretty sweet deal for any mechanic. shiiiiiit i thought about jumping over for sales but i just hate the hours and having to work saturdays.

There’s just no room to grow at my current job since the new guy is now the service manager and my brother is the assistant manager. I’m just not happy being able to not do anything more. I want to improve but there’s nowhere I can go here. Sorry if I was repetitive.

Anywho, spent my tax refund on a new stereo set up for the house. Lolol

Probably should have spent the refund on a scanner and some tools. I don't mean to sound harsh, but if you want to start growing, you better make some changes to your life.

And with the diagnosing/troubleshooting, need to learn how everything works together.....then put your time in and gain some (alot) of experience. For me, alot of my troubleshooting skills was 25% learning and the rest was time... technology changes so fast that you dont have time to keep up.. its experience and seeing a multitude of different problems and learning from them.

Hendrick Chevrolet (and associated other ones) provide their techs with everything needed; hand tools, specialty tools, tool chest, the whole 9 yards. They want their folks focused on fixing cars, not worrying about paying for tools and cutting corners to make a buck. I'm not sure I believe that, I wouldn't trust a stealership as far as I could throw 'em.. :twocents:

I heard that ad too. Sign on bonus too. If they are full tool boxes. That about $50,000~$70,000 in tools per parts changer.

The job there must really suck if theyre willing to invest that much for an entry level position.
