Yeah, it's like the frog boiling slowly. What do you have for deer? I wanna get a Remington 700. I hear they're pretty accurate

currently using an old like 1970s marlin 270 that shoots very well.

a Remington 700 is on my list. maybe next season.

Not a bad yield for 5lbs of wet meat. Filled the new 10 tray dehydrator to about 90-95% which is perfect since my marinade mix is only for 5lbs at a time lol

bunk 10-16-2018 02:44 PM

did 4lbs regular hot mix.

split the last pound to test out some super hot sauces i bought. sadly i went too light. it added a decent bit of their flavors and a touch of extra heat. but now i know. all tests for when i bag a deer or 2 next month. plus i got 2 friends asking me to make them theirs too.

I have several rifles, but a good low cost way to get out in the woods is with
a Thompson Compass rifle. Mine is .308 Winchester.

I looked at several Remington, but I wanted lots of ammo, a good scope and a decent rifle that could fall over, get scratched, get dirty, etc.

It’s good.

I picked up one in .308 few years back. It’s more accurate than I am.

Yup. The M24 is the sniper version of the 700. With the Garand,, when I hit anything past 300 yards, its all the rifle (no scope)...I cant see that far out..

beef tastes best when they are feed a natural diet of grass and are free to roam. Its sooooo soft and tastes better. Well worth the additional cost and its better for you.

FULL AUTO  Not semi auto. Squeeze trigger once. All 32 rounds are gone.

The square thing is the mag loader.

For Pa. deer. I use a Rem M700 with a carbon fiber stock chambered for 7mm Rem Mag. The scope is a Leupold 4.5-14x50mm, with a 30mm tube. The bullet is a Berger 168gr.

When I go out west. It's a McMillen 338 Lapua Mag that my oldest boy has in Colorado. The scope is a Schmidt and Bender 5-25x56. He got the rifle below cost. He's friends with McMillen.

Spent the day cleaning the inside of the truck out. Amazed at how much sand is in it from the beach. Of course, running on the beach at over 60 mph for 20 miles doesn't help. :rofl2: At those speeds. The frame got sandblasted from the tires. Also blew out a rear shock. A Bilstein 7100 with remote reservoir. Now I can get a set of King 3.0 custom valved. :yum: Lost the cap to the brake reservoir. Have a zip lock bag taped around the opening for the time being.

madwi 10-16-2018 05:57 PM

You are going to be clenaing sand out of that thing for the rest of your life now. Wondering just how and where it is coming from :icon17:
