Actually that’s boost threshold. Turbo lag is quickness of positive boost once you are past your boost threshold (I.e. on and off the throttle response).

And this a not a simple conversation as it has everything to do with turbo selection. In general twins will come on slightly (very slightly, couple hundred rpms) earlier but the slope of the torque curve on a single is more dramatic. The beauty of Sasha’s kit is the twin scroll turbo. It almost behaves like a twin setup.

Agreed and that is why Sasha continues to experiment with different twin scroll setups. You just got to pick your poison. They all will put you back in your seat. They all have there inherent nuances and as Rusty said there are now choices out there and they are all pretty good. I got to see the RJM SC in action and that thing is a beast. I kind of like the whipple look too lol.

Jwick, in your experience, how easy is it to modulate and control?

eastwest2300 12-03-2018 09:51 AM

my lesson learned... when its raining, and you're trying to back into a garage... dont back in, just pull up.

eastwest2300 12-03-2018 09:52 AM

it was a $375 lesson... it could have been a lot worse.

I agree. They are all pretty good options now. FI is still the best option but it’s pricey.

In low gear, you knock the tires lose, but that’s the deal with any boosted kit. The platform doesn’t put low end power down that well.

You ha w to respect it cuz it’ll go sideways on you in a instant but it’s definitely manageable l.
