I'm thinking about pulling the 370Z off the back and slapping one of those FairladyZ emblems on. The only thing is when that guy hit my car, they repainted the bumper cover and put new emblems on (which they placed too low). I'm afraid of damaging the paint due to them sticking the emblems on a fresh paint job. Not sure though...

dude, you're fine.. you shouldnt have any issues.. its hot down there, and you've had the car out in the heat, a year is by far way more than enough time for that to emblem to bond.

I'm more concerned that they stuck the emblem on a fresh paint job and that the tape used sunk into the paint and now it's all super cured together and may peal or show a slight indention.

i doubt it..

Then again, the insurance company said the repair is guaranteed for life. If I pull off the Z and the paint lifts, I'm just say I was washing it and the emblem and paint fell off due to obvious poor prep work.

that paint is not coming off, there's at least 2 layers of clear coat over it..
