All Repped Out & getting ready for another Monday...lol ;)
|
New workout yesterday evening, I can sure feel it today. Only hit by a small truck, or maybe a juke, but enough to notice.

:tiphat:
Evo x wanted to race at the light this morning. It was pouring rain..... Kids these days. |

Beauty of turbo cars are $500 for a tune and they really wake up even with no other mods. Plus awd from a dig helps. Are you fully bolted and tuned now? Should be fairly even from a roll unless they're really cranking the boost. Those cars fall flat up top stock |

I'm fully bolted other than LTH's/Manifold work. Ecutek tuned. Just curious to see what I make now and how it'd hold against other fun cars. I can run a freight train on the genius modding his base model Civic that says Type RR on it.... |

^ This. I used to launch at 2500-2750. Seemed to be the best range for me where I wasn't spinning and didn't look like a total noob wheel hopping down the road.
|
Hopefully this weekend I can test out everything. Haven't had many chances.
|
Damn I miss manual. My Q is definitely faster from a dig than my Z but there's not much involved in launching that car lol.

I'm seeing more and more plastidipped modded 370s and it makes me truly sad. Same ones are also drift kings in the parking lots and streets. |

Nothing beats the old Nissan Altima 2 door running around town with a massive wing on the rear end, fake hood scoop, knockoff volks, fake fender air things, those plastic bbk caliper covers, and racing stripes. |

Try easing into the throttle at 1500 RPMs. Once you get that smooth, quick launch right around the engagement point, that should help give you a better feel for what's needed to launch at 2500 RPMs, which is a pretty ideal spot for mostly stock Z's. You can get a perfectly smooth, quick launch at 4K and 5K RPMs all day long - you just wear out the clutch plate a lot more from feathering longer and at higher RPMs. And clutch dumps aren't good for much either unless you just like wasting money on tires and clutch wear.
|
I have been trying to feather at around 3k when I do it manually, but I just suck in general. It'll take a few more track days to properly get it down. LC just makes cool sounds, so I had been messing around with that. I'll lower the rpm drastically next time I attempt it and attempt to not clutch dump.

Do you have the RJM clutch pedal assembly? Seems to help all around, shifts and smooth launches.

You can try the launch control at the same rpm and turn the tc about 25%. Maybe a little more and it should be pretty good there at least it was pretty dang spot on when Seb did it in my car and that was with boost!

That's the one mod "regret" I have. If I did it over again it would've been one of the first things I do. |

Same with people saying to get a tune. Night and day difference. You read stuff and know what to expect, but are still blown away when the initial hit kicks in.
|
I said the same thing to Megan. I'd have done the RJM before anything else if I'd really grasped how good it was.
|
Another stupid thing I wish I had got before EW showed me the light was a weighted shift knob. Coming from 2 TWM basic shifters, a weighted aluminium one makes all the difference. It seriously is the stupid little things that help the car soooo much.
