BoneZ 12-10-2017 03:34 PM

A guy is sitting at home when he hears a knock at the door. He opens the door and sees a snail on the porch. He picks up the snail and throws it as far as he can. A year later, there’s another knock at the door. He opens it and sees the same snail. The snail says, “What was that all about?”

It only took me the better part of a day, but here is the login form page for the website. Have I ever mentioned I hate coding, with a passion? I still need to center the boxes and crap but it is what it is for now :icon17:

Sweet merciful crap! Long Tube Headers installed! What a job. I would never ever try that without a lift (and hope I never have to do it again!)

Good job. :tiphat:

JLarson 12-11-2017 07:13 AM

Thanks. My hands bear the scars of Nissan's carefully designed torture tunnels - the painful spaces between header and engine bay, cleverly filled with satanically sharp objects that scour the flesh from all but the smallest of fingers.

I have been torturing myself on Datsuns and Nissans since 1975 (yes, the year). Things got easier after I grew a second elbow in each arm.

madwi 12-11-2017 07:35 AM

I tricked the dog into thinking someone was here. He ran up stairs to his chair to lookout over the driveway. I quietly opened my breakfast burrito and....there he is staring at me from the top of the stairs. Damn, busted. :icon17:

madwi 12-11-2017 07:38 AM

Looking better. I think I am going to say screw it and just game today.

I knew that was gonna be a bear of a job. Glad you got it completed, with most of your digits intact :icon17:

The funny part (not so funny at the time) is that the headers themselves went smoothly. We started around 8:30 am, and by 11:30 we had just about finished taking out both driver and passenger side headers. It was the supporting stuff that was a bear. That seems to be the nature of car mods though, you "improve" one aspect while dealing with the complications that arise.

1) Had an O2 sensor that just wouldn't come out. Partly this was just not having the right tool for the job. The guy who helped me out (bless his heart forever for spending 12 hours working with me on this) had a socket for it that was cheaply made, flexed, and stripped the head. I should've brought my own set of forged tools for that particular task.
2) One of the threaded holes on the block that we needed to put a stud in was, from what I could see, incorrectly tapped. Screwed up the stud after we threaded it most of the way in. Managed to extract the stud, but couldn't get a tap into the small space (drivers side of course). Buddy had a bolt that ended up working - not quite as pretty, but definitely effective.
3) ******* Nissan and their use of cheap plastic! Had a piece that connects to the drivers side intake hose snap off! 40 minutes spent holding it in place with plastic epoxy so I could reconnect my intake.

But it's done now, and it could've been way worse. Sound is epic.

madwi 12-11-2017 08:05 AM

Snowin like a mofo here! Glad I took the weeks off! Chill in the house and not care about outside

Anyone have any idea what this part is right here? Trying to track down a part number to order a replacement in case it breaks again.

Looks like it's this, but I can't track down a part number unless it comes with 11826...
