It's a long month to wait. I like not having to wait on other people for my work.... but it is definitely more fun to work on a project with friends. As long as they are competent.

I have thought of payment for installing the mods in my garage. If you have a polish bakery near your house, I want two loaves of rye bread. I am looking for a crispier crust vs. soft.

A doctor and I were talking last night and we were reminiscing about the good 'ol days when we could buy amazing rye bread from the polish bakery that burned down.

My quest for the perfect rye bread has started.

Hmm I'll have to check but near where I work, Allegheny Ave in Philly, there is a Polish neighborhood where several stores sell fresh polish bread.

Of course, since you have nothing to offer me in return, my plan is to film myself eating the bread and post it here.

:-D

I might be having a doctors bank account backing me on this one.

Leingod 04-12-2018 07:32 AM

Unfortunately, I can't. I don't have enough towels or do laundry often enough to withstand the loss of a towel.

If you want to save some money, you can just get a single Torx T55 socket. That's my go to for the Trans/Diff plugs. An allen bit is more likely to round off and that chance just increases with lower quality bits.

HF is only good for one-time use tools. And if they break in the process, it's not a critical loss. Any power tool or regularly used hand tool I will spend more to get quality.

Power tools and such are relegated to higher brands. But 10mm sockets, cheap mf towels, zip ties, and needle nose pliers are a godsend from HF.

My diff had two different size of Allen's I had to use for the fill and drain plugs.

Ugh, always go higher end on sockets! And if you're washing your car, for the love of god do not use cheap micro fiber! Those are suitable only for very soft toilet paper.

Aftermarket diff? Did you buy your car used? They shouldn't be different from the factory. I've done or provided a garage to do those fluids on 8 different Z's. We used a Torx T55 bit on every fill and drain plug without exception.

The MF towels are used for cleaning up spills and random crap. They never touch paint. Eagle Edgeless only for MF when detailing. Dry Me A River towel for when I am to lazy to get the leaf blower out.

I have a good set of sockets for important things.

Cheap, throwaway microfiber towels are perfect for exhaust, undercarriage, and engine bay detailing. I think he knows better than to touch the paint with them.

So the list stands at:

FI 18inch resonated SS Exhaust
FI resonated HFC
Stillen Gen 3 CAI
AEM Dry Filters
PCV hoses for intakes
RJM Clutch Assemble V2
Smoked rear fog light
GT-R button
Fairlady Z badge
Fly1 full length CF side blades
Fuji rep full CF diffuser
FI 34 row oil cooler w/ makeshift aluminium blockoff plate

Plenty of time for it. We can do it first since that will most likely take the longest. Exhaust and cats won't take to long. Diffuser and blades will literally take minutes.

Leingod 04-12-2018 09:06 AM

I am driving straight through Thursday. So we can start Friday morning. Gives us all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday if really needed.

madwi 04-12-2018 09:08 AM

cats COULD take a long time.

At worst, can we blowtorch them?

JARblue 04-12-2018 09:12 AM

I've heard of anywhere from 4 hours for both to 2 days. As long as you can do it without having to get to the point of torching it, then you'll be fine.

madwi 04-12-2018 09:12 AM

you bringing a torch? I dont have one.
