eastwest2300 05-01-2017 08:11 PM

where can I get a good hardwire kit for it so its not taking up my cigarette input?

eastwest2300 05-01-2017 08:12 PM

i found them on ebay for $36, know of any place cheaper?

ChaseZ 05-01-2017 08:26 PM

Cut the cigarette adapter plug end off and hardware it. Cost $0.00

dude, I was seriously thinking about that... I may get with mr. madwi and figure out something.. I'd like to run a fuse inline just to play it safe.

I wouldn't consider doing it any other way. Piece of cake, done it lots. Add a fusible link if you want but it really isn't necessary on the small draw a dashcam would have.

Just make sure it is wired only to switched power or you'll have a dead battery once or twice a week lol

kenchan 05-01-2017 08:42 PM

Ate steak tonight. :yum:

roger that, so in other words, wire it into a fuse that turns on and off with the car... thanks brother.

I just purchased a Samsung - EVO+ 64GB microSDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card from walmart.com $28.58, which was much cheaper than Best Buy ($44.99).

That "storm" last night was a huge letdown. Poured for all of 5 minutes and was done.

I used this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

One caveat: I'd go to the auto parts store and get the low profile fuse tap, I think it's about $5. You will need a couple of low profile 10A fuses. Plug into the fuse for the 12V power outlet, it's only active when the ignition is on. Yes, I know this wire kit is for the Spy-Tec camera....:icon14:

I love working in dimly lit small spaces. Especially with a nice strong lock on the door so people will leave me the hell alone.

Leingod 05-02-2017 10:38 AM
