I never run a display for them. I do have the external speaker that you hear going off when the car is getting hit by the laser. It usually tells you which gun they are using and gives off the audible sound. That way you can turn it off so the LEO can get a reading on your car, after you make sure that you were going the speed limit the whole time, of course. Dont want to raise too many eyebrows from the traffic 5-0 :icon17:

I actually saw one guy shake his gun trying to get a reading on my old 350z :icon17:

So what VPN should I buy since Congress passed that privacy selling bill yesterday? Debating between AirVPN, Nord, and PIA.

I've used PIA for a few years and it has been good to me.

*Rant- People are going way over board with OMG ISP is going to sell my pr0n history! When in fact it is much tamer than that. Nothing more than google, facebook and every other website does to you every single day when you fill in a captcha code on a third party website or hit a like button on some random site. Ect. ISP just want in on the $ that is already flowing from your browsing habits.

njobe89 03-29-2017 08:22 AM

so we can use a vpn to protect ourselves.. which is a good vpn?

Yes, except people can choose to not use Facebook or Google. And even using them allows you to Opt-out of being tracked. Most people here only have 1 or 2 choices for ISP's which track 100% of everything coming in and out of your house connection. Even if the data is stripped of user profiles, it is still more than enough to track specifically who was looking at Brazilian midget porn while cross shopping skittles on Amazon at 3 in the morning.

I'd be equally pissed if Facebook were tracking my entire browsing history after I left the website. I can live without social media or third party sites that try to collect my data. I can't live without an internet connection.

Leingod 03-29-2017 08:27 AM

Madwi is right. PIA was good to me during the olympics as well. Free BBC from a UK server hahaha. And it's only $40 a year. i didn't see much of a decrease in speeds as well from running it. Plus it can be used on phones as well.

I suppose if you are a state actor building a profile through cookies to bust a CP ring or something, otherwise its more like Cookie4?2945/%632 is a male between 18-25, throw ads at him that are for his demographic.

Really if you want to "**** the system" continue to use ublock origin and adblock. Hit them in their wallets. that is their end game after all, not Lein likes midget mud wrestlers with dual cocks.

ublock and disconnect. Adblock just ruins to many sites at this point. Tor when I am streaming or torrenting. And a few different Facebook extensions to stop auto play ads, block third party adds, disable caching for specific things, and other random stuff.

It probably explains why I can shop for dog food and get marketed ads for flip flops. No company has any idea what i'm actually doing.

Leingod 03-29-2017 08:44 AM

Madwi, were you just on reddit? lol

"When someone buys that data, the buyer doesn't get "Andy likes Anal and Asians"; they get "The user with cookie ID #4ae74 is likely Male between 25-40" and that data is used to better target you with products and services you might enjoy."

Give it time and the interwebz will turn into the TV. Where everyone cuts the cord and providers are stuck showing sped up versions of seinfeld so they can cram more ads down old peoples throats.

eastwest2300 03-29-2017 08:51 AM

I need to step my Tor game up.... :ugh:

Or, private companies like netflix get bigger and start offering ads like hulu plus PAID service. netflix is flirting with ad revenue, although I havent heard much from them in a while.

njobe89 03-29-2017 08:59 AM

i'm not a fan of netflix, never anything good on there. i've had a 1 year subscription from tmobile and i haven't used it much. expired yesterday and i'm not getting a new one

I havent watched cable tv in IDK how long. I catch a tv shows on there so I can binge watch seasons. I THINK there is a VPNfornetflix or something like that, that will still alllow you to access their other countries libraries, which are region locked normally. Just set the VPN to a server in tthe country you want to check out and then log into netflix.

I had a free year from T-Mobile also, I got it when I got my S7 Edge. I might renew it, but I don't watch much TV to start with, so I'm not sure that's a good use of my entertainment dollars. :icon14:

I binge watched a bunch of shows when I got it, now I think I've gone through everything I wanted to see, so not much draw any more.

Madwi, this ublock and adblock you mention. Are they hard to install? I'm running Firefox at home and safari at work, but I get ads on both based on what I shop for on Amazon. I know enough about IT to be dangerous to myself... :ugh2:

They're stupid simple to install. Just go to Firefox's app store and search for ublock origin, adblock, and disconnect. Download them and they will automatically load as extensions within the browser any time it is opened.

ublock: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...origin/?src=ss

Disconnect: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...onnect/?src=ss

Adblock: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...us/?src=search

ChaseZ 03-29-2017 09:16 AM

Been using Adblock+ for years, it's just a Firefox add on and works great. Takes a minute and a half to put it on. I use iPad pretty much exclusively now so it's a moot point for me, but would shudder at surfing without Ablock on. Hate all those ads and pop ups BS

do you install all 3 or just choose one?

Leingod 03-29-2017 09:18 AM

I'd be weary of using just adblock now. They have been known to accept money to allow specific ads through from marketers paying them. Hence why Ublock was born.

I always have ublock and disconnect active. Never have any issues with them. Ublock and adblock sometimes will fight with each other on sites like Verizon. Some stuff won't load properly.

njobe89 03-29-2017 09:21 AM

Go to youtube and see if any video ads still play before the actual video you wants starts.

:iagree: Plus, make SURE you get ublock ORIGIN, that is from the orginal creator and is much, much better.

Adblock I believe lets you opt out of white listings now.
