..........in Edmonton, Alberta, in a snowstorm, when it's -35C. I'm betting that shortly after our shiny new driver-less Ford drives us out of our garage for the first time in those conditions, it'll "decide" to drive right back in with some nice computerized voice saying something to the effect that the streets are too dangerous to navigate.

BTW, how do you tell a self-drive vehicle to drive up onto a pair of ramps and to stop before going off their ends?

I suppose a DIYr working on these things will also be absolutely out of the question (as far as the local Ford stealership is concerned, anyway).

Speeding may also be a thing of the past. How fast is too fast for "safety"?

Because a self-driving vehicle may be constantly connected to something like a wireless internet, etc., the arrival of a scheduled maintenance "event" might be interesting. Maybe when that happens the one and only place the vehicle will transport its owner is a Ford stealership. Maybe it'll even go there by itself.
