Landing in AR yesterday when we were about 2- 3,000 feet up-- the pilot violently banked the airplane -- HARD -- to avoid a collision with a private jet that had just taken off and was flying right toward us... Out the right side of the plane we saw only ground.

Out the left side of the plane, we saw the jet go by -- close.

In all of my 1,000 plus flights, this was a first.

It was a sphincter-tightening experience.
