My wife was not interested in the curved screen (KS8500 vs KS8000). And the 65" was just slightly too big for over our mantle, so I went with the 60" model.

KS8000 was my other choice.

This One Connect seems pretty handy. Gonna have to play around with that today.

I went with the curved screen because I never had one before and wanted to try it out. I really enjoy it, especially for gaming. Not really sure WHY I like it though :rofl2:

65" is the biggest I swore id go on a tv, until 5-6 years down the line when I buy a 80" 8K

The 46" Samsung ours replaced had such a large bezel, the new 60" TV is barely larger measured to the edge of the bezel lol

And from what I've seen, the curved TVs can do wonders for glare in most circumstances

Someday I want a TV that is just the entire freaking wall :D

 that would be tits! Ive seen those color changing walls, shouldnt be too much longer before peel and stick whole wall tvs  I can dream.

The sharp I removed, it has to be 3.5" thick :rofl2:

It's extremely annoying for low-profile mounting :shakes head: I had to leave my existing wall mount up for now because the box wouldn't even fit behind the TV with the new, low-profile mount I bought (and subsequently returned).

That proprietary connector is too big to run through my wall, plus its not long enough anyway. It just hangs loose behind the TV right now until I figure out what to do when I get a new mount.

I ended up with the low profile mount too :ugh2: I have the luxury of an unfinished room on the other side of the wall where I am going to mount it.
I was able to go the simple route for routing the wires.

If you had bought the curved screen model... :icon17: That sucks though, I hate getting blind sided by those stupid little things that complicate the ordeal.

No kidding :bowrofl:

Precisely... also me messing up the HDMI cable :shakes head: Or really it was just me not being patient. I should have just used the one in the wall for the time being and ordered the slim monoprice one in the first place. I got everything looking clean (from the front) now with the new cable.

Of course, I still messed up something and didn't tape my fish line (thin SS hanging wire) to the cables well enough and it came loose halfway in the wall. So it'll be a pain to add any new cables.

JARblue 12-05-2016 04:34 AM

I previously had a thick HDMI cable, RG-6, and CAT5e filling the smurf tube in the wall. Now it's one really thin HDMI cable :D

I'm thinking the CAT6 I have might actually work as a fish line itself. It's in-wall rated, so solid cable  Probably won't bother with the RG-6 again - I don't think I'll ever need to run it to the TV. The wall plates are singles with 2 ports and an opening for the HDMI cable - just thinking what to run in the second port. Digital coax would have been a consideration before ARC.

JARblue 12-05-2016 04:35 AM

But now I'm at the office and it's time to get to work. Everyone have a wonderful Monday :ugh2: :hello:

I'll show her the mess behind the TV and tell her that it wouldn't have been a problem with the curved TV

... and then I will present her with flowers and chocolates for being an a$$ ;)

Cat 6 works great as a fish line  I also dont really see a scenario where you would need RG-6 to the tv itself.
When I was shopping for the boxes/wall plates I looked at the keyed units for expansion and modular design and then decided to say F it and bought the big grommet :icon17:

May I suggest having those items on hand when the ribbing begins? :p

Went to bed last night and the ground was green/bare. Woke up at 7 to let the dog out and was shocked to see we got a solid foot overnight. Didn't even realize we were suppose to get snow. Great way to start the week....

About 4 and a half inches here over night. Not terrible. Looks like it is melting off the driveway already.
