i inspected all walls and corners in my garage where da mouse may have come in but could not locate any voids. i did find one corner where da mouse was trying to chew his way out.. found like 2 droppings. there was no hole i could poke my screw driver through. but fixed it anyway.

i am pretty sure da mouse got in my garage while i had the garage door open early dawn while i was washing my GTI. dat Dcon has a strong scent..seriously i think it waz dat stupid of a reason.. Dcon invited the mouse into the garage. :shakes head:

Good news and bad news. My boss is leaving for a new place. Bad news because we are really tight and work well together. Good news because it opens up his position hopefully and allows me to take over.

Actually I try not to work from home as much as possible. I'm far less efficient with my time at home - too many distractions. Plus the home office is an absolute disaster right now :ugh:

I like my office at work. Lots of room and few distractions (other than the forum ;)).

in my experience with this company where they claim "we promote within" it has never happened. when someone leaves they always bring someone from the outside. only time someone from the inside gets promoted has been for team lead / supervisor positions, anything above that they have always brought someone from the outside.

could be different for you but that's been my experience so far.

It's only a manager position. We shall see.

Leingod 11-07-2016 09:57 AM

Yup. i'm getting the manager position and a substantial pay increase it's looking like. Should know by weeks end. I'm scared, nervous, and sad. Really not sure if i am cut out for upper level manager stuff. I'll be in charge of the whole I.T. infrastructure with nobody to fall back on if something breaks and I can't fix it.

Congrats....

Relax, have fun and you probably know more about IT than you realize. Might not be a bad idea to have a 'duty expert' (onzedge) on speed dial...... :)

I know that I will crawl for a few months while getting comfortable and will eventually be able to run with everything. But man is it a lot to take in so abruptly. Right now, i need to figure out all admin stuff for all. servers, billing for all i.t. related stuff, and adjust my attitude for meetings since I will have some say in a few areas.

Leingod 11-07-2016 04:08 PM

I wonder if I can get an extra week of vacay... but then again. Who would cover for me while I am out?

Davey 11-07-2016 06:55 PM

Back from Sam's Club... I escaped with my life... :ugh2:

kenchan 11-07-2016 06:58 PM

the reason is because I did not give you one today. Your powers of deduction are running on all cylinders today -- must be the vacation.
