its 3 wires plus a plug for video feed, you can do this

It's the head unit not the wiring thank you

When I shift to reverse it switches to the rev cam and shows the lines for distance but no video.

Also get no video from Netflix, YouTube etc just audio

No apps at all work

Only other thing I'll try is getting an hdmi to lightning adapter, but can't marine what that would help with the cam though it should with the other apps and whatnot.

Hate it when stuff doesn't work. Especially stuff you're pretty good at and don't normally have issues with

I have a PAC tr7 I can use for a bypass, might work.

Or the HU might just be a dud

Def will help with carplay, if plugged into USB1. Like you said, shouldnt have anything to do with the rear view but I think it is required for things like netflix ect to play on the unit.

Yep.. and because there is no video working anywhere, including the rear cam, that's what is making me consider it is non-op

I'll go see my car audio guy tomorrow and see what he says.

He's a Subaru guy but really knows his audio so I don't hold it against him lol
