40-60mph stops are the best! Blip the throttle and downshift. You slow down and get to hear the sounds of angels. Win/Win!

I'll only shift into N when coming to a stop when in the city and I know the light is ridiculously long.

yah, the only time i am in neutral is under 5mph. and dont hold the clutch in more than several seconds. probably the reason why ive never had tranny issues on any of my MT cars through the years.

i think people should just learn how to really drive MT cars if they are going to buy and most boast about their MT cars. most folks cant even heel and toe and they pretty much suck at driving MT cars in general. :gtfo2:

kenchan 06-27-2016 07:14 AM

but den again, thanks to the confused we still have a market for MT cars so i guess im happy about dat. :rofl2:

I'll shift into N from 20 and under. I know I'll be coming to a stop anyways and the control issue is negligible at that speed. I just can't shift from 2nd to 1st. Hell, i rarely go from 3rd to 2nd when coming to a stop. I'll just ride out 3rd until I'm close and then brake while in N. Just easier.

While doing things two or three times is great practice, it absolutely sucks having to do that task on your own car. :icon14:

could be it wasn't connected good or a flange is rattling... couple of things really. it probably happens at that specific vibrations of the car

JARblue 06-27-2016 12:17 PM

This happened at 75 mph today in the Honda :eekdance:

( Click to show/hide )
Managed to detect it and pull over before any wheel damage.

The next rep or two I get will likely push me over 66,000.

Who will be the one?

It will feel like finding the Golden Ticket felt to Charlie Bucket.

At least the wheel and tire warranty covers replacing all tires as needed. So I'll get at least two new front tires. And if the rear tread is low enough, they replace all four

I'm betting it's a flange. I may strip the whole rear this weekend and tighten/deaden some stuff.

It was actually gradual. Tire light came on first, so I was paying close attention. Within the next 1/8 mile I noticed the car pulling to the left. Within a 1/4 mile I started feeling the vibration and pulled over immediately. Only scary part was changing a tire on the side of a 75 mph highway. Normally, I would never even consider doing that. But having no phone didn't leave me with much of a choice. I had the tire changed and back on the road in about 10 minutes, so it wasn't too bad.
