Here's my experience with droid:
Exchange Support: Synced with exchange server on first try and hasn't stopped since. I get notification of new emails in 15 seconds or less. Contacts synced, calendar synced, and no matter what they tell you you are able to accept, create appointments.

GPS: Droid is an unlocked phone. Yes you can use GPS. Some have complained that they don't like the map is not aboard the device, but my guess is those are other then verizon wireless customers. I have yet to go outisde of 3G coverage and I go places.

Facebook: Syncs facebook and photos to contacts. Not a heavy user of facebook but it seems to do most of the things you can do on the web site.

Battery Life: Yes battery life is on the low end if you compare it to iphone but you have to understand a few things. Larger superior screen drains batteries. Apps on droid run at all times unless you quit them which normally you don't. That drains battery. iphone can't even run two apps at the same time much less run them in the background while the phone is on standby.

Screen: Superior to iphone. Nothing else to add, just superior.

Keyboard: Software keyboard is at least as good as iphone. You also have a physical one and some people manage to turn this choice into a negative? wtf?

Apps: Any decent app is avaiable and most are free. More free desireable apps then on iphone.

Interface: If you used the two phones and you think iphone interface is better, I can somewhat understand that. Droids interface is customizable though. If i get a call while I am typing a message, when I end the call I am right at the message screen. When I am done I just close it and I am back on the browser where I was before starting the message.

Google Voice App: Free unlimited text messaging anytime anywhere. You no longer have to get verizon's text messaging plans.

Touch Functionality: No difference except iphone has pinch functionallity all around and droid only has the hardware to do that. There are patent issues for google to be able to add it to droid. Some apps are using it though.

So do I think iphone is better at anything then droid? Yes. The iphone hype helped me sell it in less then 24 hours.

:iagree: Good Points and Since I'm a new user I have an opinion that it's like a personal preference some will embrace it and others

will just pass on it, and there's nothing wrong with that..

You're an idiot and hopefully a train derails and hits you ... but not enough to kill you, just turn you into a deformed paraplegic.

Late here but wanted to chime in!
I have the Palm Pre & it does all the same stuff that was displayed on the embedded comparisons. It's the first phone to allow multiple apps running at the same time like a PC. Also has the touchstone charger which works great on my desk! It's 3G & 4G ready and I get all my emails, web accounts, texting for $70.00 vs all other companies charging $100 per month. Plus it was the first to have a slide out keyboard. Now the Palm pixie has been released and it has most of the same features at a better price. The only complaint I've had is that the screen was a tad smaller then the Iphone.
I do like the Iphone but Palm made the first smart phone ever & I've owned all of them since, so I guess there is some loyalty there.
Just wanted to chime...

Thanks for the Info on the Palm. I don't want to sound like a Weenie, but the topic is on Droid. :tiphat:

For me under "normal" use I charge every two days. If I'm using voice only at least 4 days. Some people report much less.

 He calls me a kid and then resorts to juvenille, petty personal insults. The irony is lost on him I'm sure.

^Thanks for the links.

I've had the Driod Eris for a couple weeks but I'm thinking about switching it out for the Droid. I like the form factor of the Eris better and it's a very cool phone but Android 2.0 is looking better and better to me and the Droid has some cool accessories (desktop charging dock with some cool features and the car mount for navigation).

Decisions, Decisions.

Ive had my Motorola Droid since release date, and I couldn't be happier. I came from a Curve, and was PLANNING on getting one of the new Tours with WiFi (when it came out), but after looking into the Droid some more, I was sold.

Great phone...all the "big" apps that are actually worth a damn on iPhone more than likely will make it to the Droid OS anyway, and I'm not THAT big on apps anyway. Who's going to get 100K apps anyway? You'll get the 20-30 you use quite a bit, and the others are just the ones where you're like, "OH MY GOD, CHECK OUT MY SICK USELESS LIGHTSABER APP!".

Hah, I was in the same position. Had my mind set on the Tour for a while but got the Droid instead on an impulse. Couldn't be happier with it so far.
