I too was worried about Samsung's quality coming from Sony, but have been very pleased. Don't go with anything Sony right now. They're overpriced and under built. My last Sony had dead pixels within 3years. My 6year old 720p Samsung LCD is still going strong
Samsung has 2 and Vizio has 2 that I am looking at. may take a ride out to best buy and wally world tonight to stare/compare random models.

We run a few hundred LG tvs 24/7 at work and surprisingly the failure rate is not too bad.
I'd go with sharp, but everything is pricey for my needs compared to other models. And I will NEVER buy ANYTHING LG related EVER again. My first HDTV was a LG which died in under a year. how? The stupid freaking IR receiver within the tv literally exploded. TV worked, but you had to manually get up and change channels. SCREW THAT!
