New monitor installed. Looks mediocre (also not yet calibrated). But Fry's had a 27" LG IPS panel for $179, and I decided not to pass it up. It will be my secondary monitor. I ordered a 27" 2K AH-IPS monitor for my primary

Black box arrived. Really want to get a hardwire kit now so I don't have to look and dangling cords from my windshield. No idea how to run the wire or install then to a fusebox though. Never worked with electrical.

Apparently, I got the right hard wire kit. I got the micro-usb hard wire kit from SpyTec.

I would do a DIY for you, but I'm not sure when I'm going to get to it. Also, I would normally run just a dash cam down the passenger A-pillar. But since I'll be installing a homelink mirror at the same time, I'll run all the wires together to the driver side.

cool. if you have power going to your self-dimming mirror u can probably feed power off of that. or, just hook it up to one of the switched 12v in your fuse box using an add-a-circuit, probably.

Guess I'll be ordering that kit then.

This is for the Civic since the Z is in storage. No self dimming mirror in the 24K Si. I've never added a fuse to a box before. Only pulled them haha

yah, it's real easy to do. just get one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Pico-0956PT-Bl...=add+a+circuit

then if your camera came with a microUSB module it should have one + wire which hooks up to the above, and the - you just hook up to any chassis ground... the metal brackets behind the dash works, so any of the screws you can undo, just loosen it and wrap the wire around and tighten, or be fancy and use one of these ring terminals..

Amazon.com: ring terminal

actually u'd want to work your way top to bottom so mount ur camera, then snake the cables above the ceiling liner, down the a-pillar (just use a squeegee or plastic blade or even your spatula..lol) and feed it down near the fuse box area. you'll need to pull up the door weather strip, probably which is no big deal. just push it back on once you got the wiring in the fuse box area.

Running the cable sounds easy enough. It came with a USB to miniUSB cable and a MiniUSb to cigarette outlet cable. How would the USB/miniUSb cable connect to that fuse holder?

u will need to get a 12v to USB (5v) module but since your car is a lease, how about you get a female cigarette lighter socket and wired it to the fuse box? Then you can just use the cigarette outlet module to miniUSB cable to power your camera. how long is that cable btw?
