If you have a dash cam, post clips of various incidents, close calls or other unique events recorded.

Here's a few of my own to get started. All were recorded with the mobius action cam.

Good idea for a thread! I capture tons of bad drivers on my dash cam. Here's a clip from me to get things going. Keep an eye on that big box truck up the road.

Here's another one. Turning to get on the interstate. There's 2 turn lanes there, but I guess the lady next to me either didn't know that or (most likely) just wasn't paying attention. It actually happens a lot.

On the KY-32 video, did you add the music, or is that the crap you listen to while driving? LOL

@SwissCheese, we have many turn lanes like that around here. During a winter few years back, I got run off the road because the inside lane car went wide. I think the inside lanes are safer, less change of a car outside going narrow.

I like to go in the outside lane because almost everyone goes in the inside lane. Saves me the time from waiting at a red light or two. Plus, a lot of times I end up first at the light :tup:

It's the Blackbox G1W. I got it from Amazon for $50. Probably one of the best of the "cheap" dash cams.

Almost got ran off the road on the way to work this morning. Keep an eye on that Kia (I think?) two lanes to the left. Despite my horn honking, he just kept on going!

^^Bracken county KY. KY-22. You can almost call it a mini dragon. Almost 50 miles of curvy goodness. I was starting to get dizzy towards the end from all the curves. Lots of blind corners, blind hill crests, some elevation change but not significant rises/falls. I'd say I was probably driving at 50%. Need to always have margin just in case. Screw up and it's a long way down :)

The quality isn't amazing, but it's decent. If you fast-forward to about 3:30, you can see me getting on the interstate. I slowed down to yield to the guy coming in from the right, but I guess he had no idea what was going on.

I usually try and hold in my rage. If I do ever say anything, I usually have the windows down, so it gets muffled a little bit.

Thanks for the video - the quality seems to be pretty good (compared to the night-time video the OP showed, which was very noisy/grainy).

I may pick one of these up soon. :tup:

Also, is it easy to hide the wires? I really don't want to have wires hanging down, dangling everywhere.

I leave the wires hanging down on mine, but only because I also use the camera in my daily. The cord is pretty long, so you might be able to run it along the windshield and down to the power thing below the dash, but I don't know for sure.

For the price that seems like pretty good quality. Gonna look into that. I always wanted something, but just couldn't justify the price.

Gonna check it out. Not a big fan of things suctioned to the windshield, and I already have an ipod in the 12v in front, but that price is still good...

Yea, the G1W is definitely the best "cheap" dash cam. Don't forget to pick up a memory card, too!

I just saw you're from Iowa. Where abouts are you from?

Also, keep in mind that the G1W doesn't handle cold temperatures all that well. I had one stop working on me after leaving it outside in my daily driver overnight last winter. Luckily, it comes with a 1 year warranty, so I contacted them via the provided email, and they sent me a new one.

Had someone almost hit me when they switched lanes without looking yesterday (fast forward about 25 seconds). And then they proceeded to to go 10 under the speed limit . . . (there was nobody in front of him)

Hrm, then I bet that means it won't handle high temperatures well either.

Granted most of the time I am parked in my garage at home or garage at work, but every now and again it sits out in a parking lot when shopping, etc.

I guess I could just take it off of the dash and hide it (probably should anyways) to save it.

Nope, but I do see some Zs around town now and then. Definitely more common than several years ago, but still don't see one but every few weeks.

I'm actually testing the waters this autumn with letting go of the Z. :(

Sub'd now that I actually have a dash cam. I'll try to save any good ones and post 'em up.

If any of you guys are having trouble in extreme weather, I recommend the capacitor version (G1W-C). It does not have a battery that is subject to failure in extreme hot/cold environments.

Sorry for the potato quality. I almost got taken out by a deer last night. It was late and snowing (I could barely see past my headlights). I have no idea how I avoided hitting it.

We don't have snow around here yet. I was just on a winding 2 lane road and saw 2 deer on the side of the road. I immediately slowed down to a crawl as I went by them. From my motorcycle days, typically when there's 1 deer, there's a bunch more that you can't see but may run across the roadway any second. Better safe than sorry.

I didn't have my go pro up and running but I wish I had. I wasn't as fortunate yesterday morning. Deer got my *** pretty good.
