SMH!@# I swear, some drivers around here really have no business driving.
It's a 3 way stop. Traffic going north (left from the video's perspective) has no stop. https://youtu.be/X0cOnvZ5dPY |

^^Try again.

On my way home from work the other day. There are 2 left-turn lanes, and I was on the outside one.
|
I've had cars do that to me before. Inside lanes seem to be safer. Years back I got stuck in snow when a car went wide, causing me to either hit them or go wide too (right into a huge pile of plowed snow).
|
My z was vandalized today while parked way in the back row at my work's parking structure. Luckily the bastard only threw some type of liquid all over my hood and windshield, looks like coffee, and also left a faint key mark across my hood. I could easily buff it out. I have a dash cam but it's only on when the engine is on. Is it possible to hard wire my dash cam to keep the motion sensor on while the car is off? Some guide would be helpful. And I have a G1W-C. Thanks.

Yes, it would be possible. It's simply a matter of hardwiring it to a fuse that is always *on* (start button fuse, for example - I used this fuse for the homelink function on my rear view mirror). Once that is done, you just turn on the motion sensor feature on the camera. I'm not sure the exact menu options, but I'm pretty sure it's just a setting that you activate in the camera menu. However, there are several things to consider. I have read that many of the dash cams with motion sensor or parking modes are not very good (incl the G1WC) because they take too long to turn on and begin recording after motion is sensed. It'll just depend on the situation whether your camera will capture any footage that will be of use. Also, if there is a lot of motion to trigger the camera and your car is parked for long stretches of time, I would be sure to get a battery discharge prevention device that will prevent the camera from killing your battery. A car that reversed into a parking space may have vehicles passing by in front on a regular basis, but the camera may not actually record any of these vehicles if they are out of frame by the time the camera turns on and starts recording. You could potentially come out to your vehicle with a bunch of footage of nothing and a dead battery :ugh: |

It's been a while, time to post some interesting clips.
1) Entering costco gas station - so much for right of way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yh3etpOBnQ 2) Waiting for a pump - a) don't people know which side the filler is on b) helps if you actually select a gas product to dispense. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbIZ85TimBY 3) Thanks for opening up the lane - nice sweeper, not taken at the 40 mph recommended. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWKeUSnTxbY |
Absolutely nothing to do with cars, but very awesome to watch.
Friend recorded this at the KY gun show yesterday. Some cool action around 4:50. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28iuEoWd6ow |

On this particular stretch, the signs may be confusing. It's not entirely clear that both lanes are for 294N. I'm sure I did same thing first time passing through. Re gun show: 4:50, not 5:50. I may be tempted to see this in person next year. It sounds like a friggin war zone. |

Well, I did look into Mobius Action Cameras, will be joining that world soon. Thank you for the recommendations. |
Now I understand that the green light is very short, but come on! The guy in that last car just stared at me the entire time as if he had no idea why I was honking!
|
Apparently people just can't figure out how 2 turn lanes work. :shakes head:

Oh i love those guys. I always freak 'em the hell out because I'll launch into the intersection when they're still thinking about turning through the-now very red for them- light. I always expect that they'll roll through because that's what ******** do. But guess what, bitch? I'm an ******* too. Ooooohhhh I get them chickenfuckers good. Nothing like the whites in their eyes when they think you are actually going to hit them. |

I've been watching people and their driving behavior for awhile. Especially when cell phones and GPS became hugely popular to have, I've attributed it to mostly one thing. Being lazy and oblivious. Lazy drivers don't care how they're making their turn and the oblivious ones couldn't give a **** whether they hit you or anyone else. So yeah. I blame GPS and smart phones for the most part for that mentality. |
Situations like this is why I think the inside lane is safer.

Flash sucks.

In fact, I've had someone hit me in this exact scenario except it was a right turn. In hindsight, I was young and stupid and should have been defensive and let the guy cut me off. But he ended up putting a nice dent in the passenger door of my Ford Exploder Sport. I was donating the car in a few weeks, so I didn't even make an issue of it or file a claim. He had to deal with his rental car company. |

Same turn, different day. :shakes head:
|
So this person decided to pull out in front of me to cross the street. It wouldn't have been so bad, but they decided to slow down to almost a complete stop to go over the tiny bump on the other side :shakes head:
|
Never know what you might come across. Speed limit here was 55 mph.

Caught this the other day in my neighborhood. Pay attention to the oncoming red car. Something seemed very strange just before he passed. Specifically, I believe he blew the stop sign.
Hard to tell from the youtube video so I'll post the original too. https://youtu.be/dkaH_-aAfko https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_d...ew?usp=sharing |
:icon18: yeah he blew the stop.

So guys, I just order two Contour cameras, two mini SD cards, and two mounts. I will be ready to add some content soon.
|
After having these cams a few days now I do have content but, lol, between the learning curve on editing (which is all new to me) and having to order better, sturdier mounts (shaky cams are not fun to watch), the content I have would have been nice. Three red light runners (one almost hit me), four ricers reving their N/A four bangers at me and what I like to call, "doing lines" which are either distracted people or people who can't drive and continually travel well into the break down lane and back. I WILL have some good content soon.
|
Well.... whatever the reason I cannot embed at the moment but here is a link to one. Distracted, drunk, or dumb?

Then I realized that VLC media player can do the same thing, so now I use that to trim the videos before I upload them. |
This is how *NOT* to ride. First rider is a crash waiting to happen. You don't pass on the inside of a blind curve!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention, his body position is all twisted up. His head should be down and to the inside of the corner. @ss should be off the seat with body weight shifted to the inside.
We stopped at the same gas station they did. I made a few polite comments. Lead rider said he's been doing this for a long time and it's fine. So be it. It's a crash waiting to happen. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_...U1wcEo2ZTgydVE |
Pay attention to the vehicle on the shoulder. Speed limit here is 70mph, and cars are likely doing 80-90.

That's the Exelon plant in Byron, IL - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byron_...rating_Station
Back when I was in school (EEt major) we actually had a field trip to inside the facility. Didn't get to see the actual control room but did visit the training/simulator. Very cool indeed. |
This happened a few days ago. I didn't record it, but damn, talk about a nasty hit.
