Look at it this way. I have both a 5s (work) and a One M8 (personal). I can't stand the crap apple puts on the phones. I have yet to touch the apple watch app, the stocks apps, or the bookstand app. And it won't let me delete them either. Even jailbreaking requires some decent effort to wipe those apps.

iPhone is better in terms of simplicity and straight forwardness. Android is better at customization and tweaking the little aspects. iPhones generally have better battery management, but that's negligible on some phones. Todays screens are damn near identical. Gorilla Glass 3 on almost all Android phones now. Camera on the S6 is just a slight step below the iPhone 6, but miles ahead of the 4s's.

So when Android crashes like I've hacked it to hell and I haven't done anything except use my phone and message apps, I get a little frustrated. My parents pretty much have to turn off their brand new Samsung Galaxy 6 phones weekly to reset them or else they run like garbage or just freeze up altogether. It's actually quite terrible IMO.

But I have a Nexus 7 tablet that does far more than my work iPad.

yup when i had a s4 galaxy when it came out i had to restart it every other day.

Da fuq do your parents do to their phones? haha. Most Android devices barring LG are insanly stable. My M8 never has to be restarted. Especially since Lollipop was loaded so it converts all apps to a more manageable code. My iPhone would crash randomly when I jailbroke it and would lag at times under stock applications at times during heavy graphical use. My 5s now is rock solid, but I keep minimal applications on it.

I have the m8 and love the thing. Only down side I've had is it heats up to 122 degrees making the aluminium case a little hot to hold at times. Normal for the phone itself though. The m9 has a far greater camera. But hold the phone first before buying. I know some people don't like the "lip" it has around the screen on the front.

I'll buy a pebble first. The apple watch is far to gimmicky still. Solid construction, but horrible implementation. But to push the app straight to everyones iPhone is just a bad thing to do. Another useless app sitting on my non-customizable homescreen.

I rarely touch any apps that the phone manufacturer or carrier put on there except the phone and message apps. I put all the other garbage into a folder called Useless $hit on the next home page lol

I stopped jailbreaking my phones a few years ago. Not worth the hassle now since I hardly use my phone. The only thing is I wish my 4S had a better camera. But I only need it for work, and the photos get resized to 800x600 for my reports. If it had a nicer camera, I might take more photos in general, but I just don't care enough to bother upgrading. A bigger screen would be nice, too, but the compromise of carrying it around a huge screen isn't worth it to me. The Nexus and iPads I have do much better for me.

I've got the ipad air 2, its tight!

JARblue 07-23-2015 08:27 AM

I should also mention, I rarely bother to upgrade my phone OS. Usually it just causes more problems than it solves. So a lot of those apps aren't even on my phone (like the apple watch app).
