Well I am not here to troll just voice my opInion. The Z is a very good sports car and the base w/sport package is a very good deal for a true 2 seat sports car. I do own a 2013 Hyundai coupe 3.8 track and that is also a very good car for a sports coupe. I think the mistake you made was buying a "GT" type car when you really wanted a 2 seat dedicated sports car, two different animals. As far as it's "a Hyundai" goes, they are building very good cars theses days and are actually pushing the other car makers to get back in the rear wheel drive sports car/coupe game. When you have competition then you tend to step up your game or fall behind. Let's not step all over one another as far as these cars go, they are both very good for what they are.

The new Genesis Coupe 3.8 is a good:car and not a POS. Have you driven a 2013 3.8 track? This is a good car and comes totally loaded with all the tech you could want. As I said ,it is not a true "sports car" and should not be advertised as such...it's a sports coupe that is quick and fun to drive like the old Supra was. I do like the Z car a great deal and is a great choice if you want a two seater sports car. I have no intentions of starting a mash up here on your forum. I would have picked the Z if I wanted a sports car and did pick the Genesis for a 2+2 Coupe, The muscle and pony cars are not for me, been there done that 30 years ago. let's just all enjoy our rides and be happy we have them.

I LOVE the Genny coupe, it was definitely on my radar when i was looking for a new sports car. The design is awesome and I personally thought it drove great! the horespower+goodies for the price is just unbeatable. Although i was hesitant because of Hyundai past reliability record they have come along way. My brother owns the genny sedan V-8 which I love for the price. I think what killed it for me on first glance was the was the cheapy plastic interior/knobs/and the dash layout. Coming from the 2nd gen g35sedan I was spoiled by the interior and comfort. So the Z just turned out to be a great fit inside and out for me.

Anyway...congrats on the Z and I loooovvveee your color choice. So rare in these parts!

Jmac, I agree with you lets just enjoy the purchase we made...but realistically this is a forum specific to the Z. So some opinions will be harsh, I'm sure if I logged onto a genny forum we'd find the Z discussed at some point or another as a crapped out car not worth the price tag. It is what it is.
When I see the genny coupe on the road especially the dark grey metallic it turns my head everytime.

You're saying the OP didn't like the Genesis because he made the wrong choice of car for his needs? I don't think that's the case at all.

Due to no fault of his own, the OP was unfortunate and just got a bad car, which was then compounded by a misleading warranty and poor service.

I'd like to think I'm a level headed person, but if I were the OP and went through what he went through.....I'd probably feel the same way and not want to experience another Hyundai.

Not only the problems with, the HID went out and thats only covered for the first 4k miles, and it was $135 to install a new one and they jacked up the aiming and told me it would be $7.99 to readjust them, the traction control was always off it went back to dealership 3 different times for them to try and fix it, they dont offer loaner cars and everything that went wrong wasn't covered under the 100k "americas best warranty" the headlights were auto but they didn't turn off with the car you had to turn them from auto to off when it was night time no it wasn't the coming home or leaving home feature they stayed on. It was keyless entry like my 370z is however mine stopped working and in order to fix it again they had to replace the door handle and module which has to be ordered from korea and was on backorder I had to use the key that pulled out of the fob remote because the keyless didn't work, it took almost 3 months to get the parts in, then they had my car for 4 days to fix it... It was the worst car ive ever owned I owned my 350z about 8 months bought it with 22k miles sold it with 57k miles never one problem and that was early last year it was a 2004 7 years old and ran better, rode better and looked better than the genesis. Very glad Nissan was able to offer me a good price and get me out of it, I missed my Z from day one!
Agreed!! I did the same thing and last year and bought a loaded 3.8 track. It was crap since day one, worst mistake ever made. Getting rid of that car was the best move ever. I didn't even care about losing money on it. I am surely not getting another Hyundai EVER. Best warranty ... what a joke. Getting the Z, you can tell the difference between the Genesis and a properly built car.

Do you have pics of your car up yet besides your avatar? I don't think that I've ever seen that blue before. Looks pretty nice tho. And with all this Genesis talk, now I want to test drive one lol.
