Just a short note to say hello from Alabama. Just purchased a 2010 Black Cherry Roadster AT. Looking forward to seeing what she has when I can find a track to run her on. Not many miles on her yet but I'm sure that will come quickly.

Most of my friends laugh and say I'm having a midlife crisis - but I prefer to think of it as a midlife celebration. Some say tomato, some say......

Randy, congratulations and welcome! Great pics, you have a looker! Same thing happened with me when I bought my Z with people asking if I was having a mid-life crisis. I just said, "nope, just enjoying the fruits of my labors". Enjoy!

Thanks for the welcome. I am on several motorcycle forums and I know that pictures are a must.

The 11 year old boy in a couple of the pictures is my neighbors kid and he was loving the car so much so I took him out behind out subdivision and let him drive it. He had never driven before other than sitting on his dad's lap. The road we were on was closed for some future construction so there were no other cars around. He got gutsy enough to get it up to 60 mph. He was smiling almost as much as me.

Thanks for the welcome. I love how the roadster looks. It looks better with the top down, but even with it up it is sharp looking in my opinion. Was at a little restaurant this morning having breakfast and noticed that EVERYONE was checking out the car - old, young, male and female. Was surprised to see even the elderly folk (70's - 90's) checking it out. It looks great and is real fun to drive.

Thanks Z-man. It is nice to finally be at a point in my life where I can buy a frivolous toy like the Z and not break the bank doing it - AND still have money to go places in it. Recently retired from the Army after 24 years, got a job doing the same thing for the Army as a Civilian Contractor and get a nice little disability check on top of it all. The moons have aligned, things have come together, and as you said I am at a point where I can enjoy the fruits of my labor and share it with others.

In the short time I have had it, I have taken the opportunity to let other people drive it a few blocks or down the road just to say they have. The funniest was this elderly black lady who was admiring it outside a local store. I'm about as white as they come and when I asked her if she wanted to take it for a spin she just laughed and said of course but what guy in their right mind would let her. I just laughed back and threw her the FOB - told her I had about 10 minutes of business to do inside and to have it back in 10. I thought the poor lady was going to feint. She immediately got on her phone, called her husband and started telling him about this guy that was letting her drive his Z. I did have to step in on that one and tell her the only two conditions I had were that she didn't wreck it and she couldn't talk on the phone while she drove it. When she got back she had the biggest grin on her face and I got the biggest hug I think I have ever gotten. Its nice to be able to have something that not everyone has - but also let others share in the experience. Of course I'm selective on who I let take her for a spin without me in it with them, but its fun to make others smile.

Nice roadster and welcome. Is the weather cooperating with you for top down enjoyment? For me, if it's sunny I'm good to go at 55 degrees or better. If it's cloudy I'll bump it up to 60 degrees. I'm anxious to see how well the a/c and air conditioned seats handle 100+ Texas summers. Top down or up I like the look of the car!

The weather is cooperating most days so getting some top down time. With the wind dam in the back and the windows up there really isn't much wind through the cockpit. I have run it with temps down in the lower 40's and with heater turned up it is pretty comfortable - especially with a ball cap on. Now, you may have to put that into perspective with the fact that I ride my motorcycle all year long and I will ride it down to temps in the low 20's.

The heated seats work great, but like you I am looking forward to seeing how well the cooling of the seats works. I am taking a trip to Ft Worth in April and will drive the Z out there if my company will reimburse me for the cost instead of me flying. Temps out there should be heating up by mid April. A good road trip to see how she travels and how well the systems work.
