FI sounds great and all but I can't stand how it looks. Looks like those stupid ricer exhausts that are super crooked and clearly not designed for the car it's on.

I have been where you are a month ago.
I sold my previous exhaust and was on a hunt for an exhaust i could get ASAP.

I finally gave in after 1 month because i got to hear Fast Intentions locally.
Its a ridiculous wait. I have only placed my order 10 days ago. I am expecting them in June lol.
I Vote FI because there might be better sounding ones, But i doubt there are better gains than FI around.

Whatever you chose, It only matters that you like it.
Good Luck

Thanks, I'm sure I would like the sound in person. I'm really looking for something quieter so I'm allowed at the track but still sounds good. But waiting 3-4 months would really be most of the autox and track season.

I didnt wanna wait and got the Ark Performance DT-S not to long ago. Sounds great to me. Nice deep throaty exhaust, noticeable inside and outside of the car.

sounds like garbage? yet they have the most sales and most demand.....and you own their product.

so many idiots on this forum anymore

you obviously have never seen an FI exhaust then. it is one of if not the best designed exhaust for the 370Z. hence why it has the best flow and highest power gains. its a true dual design with the least bends and least severe bends on the market.

I mean you may be thinking of the tomei single side exit exhaust the comes out **** eyed, or maybe the other exhausts that come to the back, make 90 degree turns with sideways cans that restrict power gains, or something but FI? no sir you are either mistaken or not too bright.

good day :tiphat:

Meh, personal preference. I understand the FI is one of the best (if not THE best) for this platform but I just don't like seeing mufflers.

then where do you prefer to put them? that's the spot for them and the rear design of the Z makes them visable no matter what exhaust you have......unless you have my exhaust. I don't have mufflers so cant see any.

I win :tiphat:

Only going by video clips, I found the F.I. and the ARKs to have the best sound. They both give that deep VQ rumble. I was set on the ARK as I wasn't interested in waiting for the F.I. but I ended up finding an F.I. in the classifieds on here.

I don't think you can go wrong either way.

never really got into them honestly. just felt like being a prick lol

yes FI is the best sounding exhaust. especially when it's full straight pipes like mine :stirthepot:

Chasingstatus 03-09-2015 09:47 AM

Whoa! tough crowd. I personally am running AAM non resonated Testpipes, AAM S-line exhaust and AAM Short tails. Its got a decent sound but is def super loud. I haven't hit the street yet as it is winter but I can say it is enough to give you a deep growl. I have a video but it bottoms out the microphone. Its really not worth showing lol

so you're close to having a AAM version of my FI straight pipes.

AAM make great products as well. got my tune there and love all the people who work there.

They are GREAT PPL TO DEAL WITH AS WELL! lol sorry for the caps just need the point to be driven home. They sent me the Test pipes for a DE and when I let them know of the goof. I cant remember I think I dealt with Jeremy he instantly one day shipped the correct TP's without question and with a lot of trust I wasn't some scumbag. I still had the $450 DE test pipes. Then he paid shipping back for the DE test pipes. Not to mention all the welds are perfect. I also plan on making a trip down there for a tune in the near future. Yeah I was thinking of your exhaust when I was in the market and just a forum lurker. I tend to be very impatient and the wait just wasn't for me with the F.I. I also liked what AAM had to offer as well as the sound and I like them being on the East coast as am I. Sooo yeah very little wait for me, which my impatience was all for.

oh yea AAM are very good to deal with. had such a great experience with my tune with them. never had any issues.

patience is a virtue when going with FI for sure. to be honest the wait is well worth it. plus being an east coast guy could always put the order in right before winter and have it ready to go in spring lol

That's how I worked it! Lol

AAM all the way

If the OP is still looking for an exhaust that will give that deep growl, then I say AAM. I went with their system and test pipes and it sounds AWESOME. My sound clip is on AAM’s Facebook page. When I first put the exhaust on it had a little rasp but now that the pipes have aged and seasoned it is incredible. Deep rumble at idle to a screaming banshee at WOT. There is no drone and when I poke the throttle, I get that nice "WRAAAAAP" that makes my trousers a little tight. I find myself blipping the throttle just because in order to hear that sound.:happydance: If you don't want to spend a grand on the full system, the short-tails would sound great and be very economical but call Jason and see what he can do.

My exhaust:

Ugh, well my summer last year was exhaust ticket like day after day w the test pipes and short tails just going to work. Then the ol' lady was like " don't get the rest" and I was all like "but racecar". Sooo, that went like that nov-jan needless to say i have AAM test pipes, AAM S-line, and AAM short tails. Lol only heard it in my garage since waiting on tires but if OP wants deep growl at the cost of being crazy loud. AAM is dope. Ohh and I also changed my route to work.

ScottOmatic 03-09-2015 11:16 PM

The 3" AAM True-Dual sounds mighty good.. I went with the 2.5" Axleback and like the sound a lot, I think it will be perfect when I add test pipes, but if I had to pick something else I would easily pick the 3" system they have to offer.

Also, they are great to work with here on the forum.

go straight pipes, tell the ole lady to deal with it, and outrun the cops :tiphat:

I got lucky where the woman absolutely loves how insanely loud my car is

Chasingstatus 03-10-2015 09:55 PM

CDL driver....lol otherwise I'd already would have taken such advise.

bkngo 03-13-2015 06:54 PM

I've spent weeks researching for the right sound and i have to admit I am very impressed and glad i went with FI CBE 18" Res w/RTP...

I have heard FPenvy's car before. It's ridiculously loud and sounds awful. He went passed me one day and I though it was some pos missing the entire exhaust system. If thats what the FI sounds like no thanks!

Because tp + straight pipe? Lets not generalize. Not all FI sounds the same.

Awful? You're the only person who has ever thought that. May need to get your hearing checked.

FI makes the best sounding and best quality exhaust on the market.

What is different about yours? It honestly seemed ridiculously loud. It was out in cranberry on 19 last year. Maybe you had a different set up then?

Same setup. You're either 50+ years old or you have no concept of a real exhaust.
