I do not think you "have to". I have not yet will be doing it after I do my CAI mod. When you put in a "good" cold air kit you could mess up you air/fuel ratios and lean out the car too much. You don't want that.

As with most cars, tuners can squeeze I few extra HP out of a stock. Is a few HP worth $500ish dollars for just an exhaust? Up to you really.
