If you have a real good dealership in your area you take it to and the guys will work with you, they'll usually look past the exhaust but if your dealership wants to be a prick they can technically say your powertrain is voided due to the exhaust. I had a Motordyne exhaust on my G35 and 3 different dealerships denied doing warranty work on my G because of the exhaust.

No, not at the end of the day. There must be a reasonable connection between a modification and denial of claim. Invoke Magnuson-Moss or other consumer protection/warranty law and you should be able to cut through the crap.

In most cases yeah that's true. But for now I'm just going to stick with an axleback until I save up the money to do a full Cat-Back, test pipes and headers setup.

WOW, you believe that. They can and will deny your warranty. They will even go in and flag your vehicle in the system. It's BS, but go to the wrong place and you will pay dearly. Happens all the time in the diesel truck world. It can get ugly quick.
