Changing the mid-pipe only very very sightly increases the db level. I use the Nismo S-Tune y-pipe and midpipe mated to my stock muffler for a short period, noticed no increase in sound. The stock muffler is pretty damn good at its job, so any noticeable change will have to occur from a muffler change.

BTW, is there any way to get this axle-back with different tips, and also have them welded on? Thats the deal breaker for me, mainly because I dont like the way clamped on tips look. I'd love the Nismo tips from the short tails welded on. Is this a possibility?

I read elsewhere, a person found they lost power with this exhaust, until they'd had their car tuned.
I am competing in a class where we are not allowed to tune our cars (and yes, they might check). Is there any way to get an idea of how things would go without tuning?

Thanks,

I'm wondering the same thing. Specifically regarding the possibility of Nismo tips.
