Default AAM axle back issue...

Hey Guys,

I installed this on Saturday. Sounded mint! Drove the car all around over the weekend and then late this afternoon the exhaust note started to sound harsh and awful. I snuck the car home presuming the exhaust bolts had worked themselves loose. (I was envisioning loosing them on the drive home).

Once in the garage I slid underneath. Nothing was really loose. I got 2 full strength turns out of one nut and the others maybe a 1/4 turn.

This helped a bit. But still doesn't sound as clean as the last two days. Vibration also. Could the exhaust gasket be the culprit?

I removed the small black heat shield on the passenger side but not the big silver one where the old muffler was.

Any ideas?

Ah finally installed them..... Good for you, I'm glad you like the sound other than your current problem. I too want to get a louder exhaust but not race car sound too. It's got to be a gasket. At leat I hope. Can you post some pics?

It is the gasket for sure. I put a rag into the left tip for 2 seconds and then swapped it into the right top while the car was idling. This helps to identify where the leak is. I put some more torque into the bolts and everything seems good now.

These are loud. Top Speed axle back would be quieter but the tips stick out more than I like.

Yeah I'd imagine it's louder because of your berk hfc. Don't forget about me if you still want to sell them.
