Dear God. Do you drive with hearing protection? On a track that's going to get you black flagged, isn't it?

Lol no but I have in a jeep wrangle on the highway because of wind noise. If you listen at start up after a second it's very quite. Only WOT is it loud. It's pretty tame just normal DD around town. The cars gutted anyways so you hear everything! On the highway at 70mph with no real exhaust noise its like 90 db I think just from wind, rocks, motor, and tires.

Depends on the track. My bike was 106 db which was the limit per rules at 4 feet from the tip at half throttle at a 45* angle. At WOT at 16,000rpm I'm sure it was pushing 140+ and never flagged at mid ohio, Nelson's ledges, VIR, beaver run, or summit point.

Hell the ctsv's at mid Ohio during the Pirelli challenge makes your ears bleed!

Just run open dump straight from the cats. ;)

If not then have a muffler shop custom fab a 3" pipe straight from the cats to the rear of the car.

GTHaus is the loudest.
Fast intention is the best bang for your buck. no lie.

synolimit 03-19-2014 03:22 PM

I think something a 1/3rd the cost would be the best bang for the buck.

Thanks for the input guys I really appreciate it. Any thoughts on a straight pipe set up?

Full CBE and it's ear shattering at over 3500 RPM.

That is misleading.

AAM short tails + headers + a midpipe = WAY louder than short tails alone.

That's just too loud. There was a member that did something similar and immediately took it off because it was just obnoxious.

I have AAM and I love them. They are loud and people will notice (also from miles away).

Nissan 370z Meisterschaft GTHAUS Exhaust LAUNCH - YouTube

hey thats me!
yes GTHaus is loud but the tone is proper. theres loud and then theres obnoxious. if you have lots of drone its bad. the GTHaus is proper. Put it this way, i gutted my trunk so i could hear it more. You cant have a conversation at all but who cares, im here to drive. Anything less than 15 volume on the radio is also completely drowned out :P

G37Sam 03-20-2014 01:15 AM

Did someone say loud exhaust?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BbSqVUGGYs

luigi90210 03-20-2014 04:12 AM

I doubt changing the mid pipe will change the loudness very much.

I didn't say you had to get rid of your cats.
Headers do not eliminate your cats necessarily, neither does a mid-pipe.

And yes adding the mid-pipe to the short tails will make it significantly louder. I have heard with my own two ears :)

Any headers worth doing get rid of the cats. Shorty headers on this car are a waste of money and time. It's long tubes or nothing, and long tubes get rid of the cats, hence his comment.

Alrighty, semantics

Loudest exhaust with stock cats..shorty headers, mid-pipe, short tails

OP asked about the loudest setup. Not what makes more or less power.

without bypassing the cats?
