My fuel mileage has dropped too... because I can't keep from gunning it! In a moderate to hard pull these intakes sound absolutely AWESOME between 3k-5k. Especially in third gear it seems. It sounds so good... The car sounds so much more beefy and you feel like the engine is really talking to you now.

Red370 08-17-2009 09:13 PM

good, about damn time it starts answering my advances... wait, did I just say that?

Red370 08-17-2009 09:15 PM

so do you "feel" like youve gained any juice?

Feels like it pulls harder to redline and there may be a little more mid-range grunt. Will confirm on Saturday.

Red370 08-17-2009 09:39 PM

man, I cant wait to see how these go with your FI setup, im salivating at the possibilities. Imagine these, long tubes and the FI exhaust? uhhh ahhh I just skeeeted.

m4a1mustang 08-18-2009 06:05 AM

I can't wait, either. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is maybe not being able to hear the engine as much. Really, regardless of the gains, I think the sound alone makes this kit worth the price. It absolutely changes everything... the thing sounds amazing.

I can't imagine what it sounds like to others as I accelerate past them... It sounds pretty wicked inside the car, especially with the windows down.

Caravanshaka 08-18-2009 07:40 AM

I'm hoping your dyno curve looks a little better than the one they posted up from Injen. It is almost a linear <5 hp increase across the whole powerband until you hit near redline, which is where you see it keep pulling as the stock intake flattens out. Ya, that shows a 15 hp overall increase, but it's a tiny increase over most of the powerband.

Either way, I love the way a good intake sounds

m4a1mustang 08-18-2009 07:54 AM

We'll see what happens. I have a feeling that that's how it's going to be... the stock intakes seem to flow very well.

Caravanshaka 08-18-2009 07:57 AM

we'll see...I'm still hoping for a better overall power curve :excited:

I think in general that intakes are going to provide mostly peak gains because the factory piece is not really a restriction up until the very top of the range.

HFCs and CBE, however, are pretty restrictive, so aftermarket replacements should yield gains throughout the entire range.

THMotorsports 08-19-2009 10:54 AM

getting closerrrrr.

m4a1mustang 08-20-2009 01:17 PM

Is it Saturday yet?!

Pushing_Tin 08-21-2009 01:00 PM

I just ordered the R2C intakes, it will be interesting to see what gains we get. I will also dyno before and after.

Really looking forward to your numbers, bit put off with my Takedas and thinking of jumping on one of the two CAI systems. Hoping for the best.

m4a1mustang 08-21-2009 06:30 PM

I don't want anyone to get too excited, though. The advertised gains always seem to come off of DynoJets, so I don't think we'll see the +15whp advertised by Injen, let alone the +18 by Stillen.

tbonesteak 08-21-2009 08:29 PM

how dare u torture us like that!!!! GAHHHHH!H!!!

Minicobra1 08-21-2009 08:46 PM

in for the Dyno rusults  This looks like a really good design.

Well, if they have zero gains they are still better than mine. ;)

RCZ 08-22-2009 10:53 AM

DYno! Dyno! Dyno! We going to bring the pitchforks out soon.

m4a1mustang 08-22-2009 10:59 AM

+6.9 whp, 265whp

nogoodname 08-22-2009 11:02 AM

sheets??

theDreamer 08-22-2009 11:18 AM

Not bad gains, what was the temperature like today there?

nogoodname 08-22-2009 11:27 AM

humidity levels??

m4a1mustang 08-22-2009 12:04 PM

Sorry guys, I posted those on my BB at the dyno. Temperature was about 84 degrees but it was very humid... 67% vs. 36% last time.

Dyno sheets -- the shop is going to .pdf me the comparative graph as the printer ran out of color ink. I will get them Monday morning, but basically I can say that gains are very minimal until the top end... the graph looks just like the Stillen G3 and Injen dyno.

I think if you work out all the math this is in line with the 15whp advertised by Injen, which was run on a DynoJet. For reference, Tony (2theextreme) was with me and he dyno'd at just over 270whp vs. 307whp on a DynoJet, so there is a big difference.

I have some videos and stuff that I'm going to try to upload today. Tonight at the latest.

dainedazz 08-22-2009 12:09 PM

so your saying its 15whp gain if it was dynod' on a DynoJet?

nogoodname 08-22-2009 12:13 PM

i'm gonna lose my brains if the R2C give negative results (dyno'ed by Tin) like theDreamer got with Takeda's...lol

m4a1mustang 08-22-2009 12:13 PM

Oh wow, I totally f'd up with the video. Guess we're going to have to wait until I go back with my FI exhaust installed. Let's just say when I thought I wasn't recording, I was. When I thought I was recording... I wasn't. :roflpuke2:

I did get Tony's car, though. :tiphat:

Yes. Parts manufacturers are always going to advertise their gains on a dyno that shows the biggest numbers. DynoJet's read hp a lot higher than DynoDynamics.

Just use Tony's car as an example... 275whp on a Dyno Dynamics and 307whp on a DynoJet.

nogoodname 08-22-2009 12:18 PM

what about dynapack???how do those turn out??

so you are saying, with just the intake, your car dyno'd only 5 whp less than Tony when he has 13k invested in his car? Damn...something doesn't add up right there.
