We all know why Americans V8's have a deep sound: big pistons and long stroke. When you take a small displacement engine and try to make it sound deep it doesn't really add any aural appeal... to me anyways. Taking this concept to an extreme and you get the 1.5 liter Honda Civic with the fart can muffler. High pitch is sexy cool. Think Lambo and Ferrari. The 370z with the rev limiter reset to 8,000 is a beautiful thing. I wish my exhaust had a higher pitch to make it have a more exotic sound. |
