1) The prototype is said to have been lower than the version that will go to production, so clearance issues should be resolved.

2) I see what you are saying, but listen very closesly when the scrape occurs. I've never heard metal scrape that sounds like that. It sounds very, very similar to when I scrape the plastic chin spoiler of my car on the ground. It sounds much more like plastic than metal. Not that in really matters anyways:rolleyes:

I've said before guys! It's my front chin that's scraping, not the exhaust or anything else! Got my berk hfc put on this week so I should be posting a vid of it sometime this week...or next

Pictures and video are sick! Curious how the drone is on this exhaust during highway cruising.(assuming not bad since the db is close to oem?

VERY Minimal Drone. Alot of people have different ideas of what Drone is. So just to be safe. Very very Minimal Drone.

My idea of drone is an annoyingly loud sound that over powers the cabin while cruising. But hearing the exhaust in general while cruising isn't an issue if its at bearable levels.

Nope. If your idea of drone is what is stated above, then the Type 2 ARK PERFORMANCE True dual system has no Drone.

The additional canisters have two important functions. One is to keep the true tone of the 370z. During lower RPM's these canisters fill up and lessens drone (which is ideal for Daily driving). When it comes to higher RPM's, the air bypasses these canisters and act as a straight through muffler. The results show that it bears the same gains as any straight through mufflers while keeping the tone.

However there is a difference between our exhaust system design and other exhaust systems as well that make our sound unique. Its the quality of metal that we use as well as the thickness of piping that we used to make these exhaust system. Not to mention that we implemented our X-flow into this system as well.

Ultimately, we came out with a way to have that clean tone, without sacrificing performance throughout the band.



- What are the differences between this and the Type 1 and Type 3?

Type 3 has not even been released yet.

The difference if between type 1 and 2 is the design of the exhaust system.
Type 1( ARK DTS )- uses a True dual system that never meets and flows straight through all the way back.

Type 2( ARK GRIP )- utilized our X-flow, Dual Resonators, and Dual Canisters.

Our signature tips are dual Rolled, welded, Polished burnt tips

Lastly, for Type 3 ( ARK N2 ) - we are looking into a Single Exit exhaust that is used for competitive street and Track use. We will use Titanium for our single exit systems. This model will be the last project that we take on for the 370z.

Just a small added note: We are also looking into short shifters for the 370z. so stay tuned.

Great write up. answered exactly what I was looking for. As far as short shifters go. That would be interesting to see if you can design one that doesn't rattle like mad in the upper rpms like I've heard about.

Just how far do these tips stick out from the rear of the car? In some of the pics it looks like it may be flush, in others they look like they stick out way too far. would it be possible to get a better shot to better show how far out the tips are?

Yes, for the most part that is correct. It all depends on the time of days it's ordered.

All pre-orders will not run into unnecessary delays once it gets into our warehouse. The only delay I can think of is customs now. The process is Just the same as all parts coming from Korea or Japan.

As some of you may think bending a couple of pipes and welding them on is an easy task, it really isn't. It takes a lot of measuring and knowledge to make these systems made to be perfect.
