Sad about the OEM fuel rails not working. :ughdance:

Mike, would there be any downside to running the -8 fuel rail? I wanted to have the overhead for down the line, in case I wanted more power.

E: Also, I sent Sam a PM, but from my understanding, if I can have a shop weld on the AN fittings, just a small amount of AN stainless steel flex hose would be able to suffice as the crossover, correct? I think I should be able to get this done for a very good price, so I might go this route.

If that was the case 20+ people here would of done that years ago. Take assumptions and research facts with the search feature.

Sometimes it's not about HP all the time but efficiantcy.

Some would say I jumped the gun. I couldn't pass up a deal to get my hands on one of these! :driving: And yes, it came with a balance tube. ^^

Is the balance tube necessary?

Dear God, that's expensive. I'd worry it would be too big inside unless you were running a lot of boost.

I'm sorry, but I'm unable to respond. My head just exploded from seeing the price.

I guess soo, a while ago I read an article about gain if the balance tube were slightly bigger.
Which means it has a purpose.

The balance tube is necessary. It basically balances the pressure from side to side. It will come with the GTM kit. BUT THE BALANCE TUBE HAS TO BE THE GTM ONE FOR THEY HAD TO CUSTOM MAKE IT TO FIT AROUND/ NEAR THE VVEL ON OUR CARS.

Would an OEM GTR fuel rail work with this?

I was actually wondering the same thing.

roplusbee 07-29-2013 12:26 AM

Just when you think it is safe to say that you have your build planned out, things like this crop up. GTM is really pushing the envelope these days.

Staples 07-30-2013 02:26 AM

I'd love to see the difference between the stock and this on N/A and boosted. I wonder if it would make a decent difference on my stage 2 supercharger kit.

Seems like a bargain when you compare it to the $700 hose clamps and the $1900 test pipes!!!!!

I'm pretty sure it will not due to mounting location of bolts, regulator, and dampers the OEM fuel rails have. Along with the cross over hard line. I'm sure the fitment and clearance is totally different.

I am very interested in the strut bar GTM will be making. Just to have something different. Maybe smaller in width also.

Haha... not all is lost. It funded the Aero Jacket one off vented hood. Even the price paid originally is cheaper than getting it new.

Someday, though. Those fuel rails are sick. I'd consider this if I were to build up the motor one day.

DPE G 07-31-2013 07:36 PM

Talked to Sam, and the OEM GTR fuel rails are a no-go. I also have a GTR upper plenum if anyone is interested ;)

Zrider79 08-01-2013 01:16 PM

more info Gtm !

Seems to me all the info has been given. Pretty self explanatory.

370Z JT 08-01-2013 01:27 PM

Actually I would like GTM to confirm the balance tube is included with the purchase of the adapter or if I would have to source this myself.

Any color options like black, gray for the fuel rail?

Dyno results?

DPE G 08-01-2013 01:29 PM

When I talked to Sam he said he had broken his leg so there was going to be some delays. Hoping for an end of August release of the intercooler pipes to adapt, I'll be hopping on this wagon and adding 3" downpipes to go with it. There was a difference in the mounting of the OEM GTR rail, and he did say the OEM rail could be modified to work.

Yes the balance tube is included. It's a custom piece also that GTM had to make due to the VVEL in the way.

For dyno results it was stated it will be a little.

So the last section of the cold side piping of the TT kit will have to be differently shaped I assume? Makes sense. The throttle bodies must be closer. I hope the end of August is for those pipes only and not the TT kit. If so ill be .............

elperuano 08-01-2013 02:23 PM

Where are the dyno results for this? Would like to see stock plenum vs gtr conversion plenum with boosted cars. Then I'll buy.

They already said it will be a couple weeks plus. But when the results come we'll see how many really buy. I know it will make power. I just want to see the new strut bar. I'm a sure in for it no matter what it looks like. Just to have something different finally.

DPE G 08-01-2013 03:10 PM

I was strictly talking about the existing cold pipes. I am already TT so I will need to change those out.

Depending on price tag I'd prolly do the cosmetic thing as well. But I'm sure installing this would require a re-tune.

No doubt. That's how the power with be extracted.

chrischhorn 08-02-2013 01:34 AM

I say group buy pricing please!

UruZai 08-02-2013 05:43 PM

Sub'd for results.
For us N/A guys, would we have to get new intakes or can we use the ones we have now?

vividracing 08-07-2013 07:18 PM

oooohhhhh!!!! This is gonna be great!

I believe the throttle bodies get moved up and forward a bit, so custom upper intake pipes will be needed...

ChrisUR who also tackled this had to modify his Stillen Gen3 pipes to work.

MyKindaGuise 08-08-2013 07:25 AM

I want this really freakin bad. But uhg 2k...that is partial engine rebuild money. hmmmm.

Alstann 08-08-2013 07:55 AM

Be a real good starting point to see if you can buy a used manifold. ;)

SPOHN 08-08-2013 07:59 AM

I really want. But I'm closing in on my budget for the year and I still have to finish my roll cage and buy a car trailer.

It won't be too hard, I run an aftermarket manifold on my gtr so I have a stock one just laying around collecting dust :hello:
