Default I did the spacer mod to the exhaust....

.... And it sounds awesome!! The best 14$ I have ever spent for sound!

I was thinking about AMS shorty for my Z and came across a thread about putting a few spacers where the exhaust attaches to the mid section, decided to give it a shot since a few ppl did it and it sounds great.

Had a shop removing the rusted bolts and install the washers, and was laughed at when I told them what I want to be done. Well, I had the last laugh when both of their jaws dropped after hearing the sound!

I later went to discount tire and the gm thought I had FI exhaust first. He had to look under the hood to confirm it was only $4 washers lol

I know how some members might feel and say about it. But I can care less bc I am happy. Just to share with you guys if you are not loaded and wants to wake up the Z!

I am glad you like the way it sounds... I have read about a couple of people doing this to their cars, and it just seems odd to me. It just reminds me of working on older rusty cars with holes in the exhaust pipes and trying to find them in order to patch them up. I would not want that on my pretty Z. But again to each their own.

$4.06 exactly for 16 spacers and 10$ for the shop to install them.

There are no holes and it can be put back to normal in 5 min.

And cosmetically, you couldn't tell a difference except now my car sounds like I have FI exhaust system

at least you live in a warm climate. in my area (snow belt state), our early and late driving season is pretty chilly and that means we get steam from the exhaust until engine is warm.

looks weird when you got steam coming form UNDER the car..

I am in Orlando too!

Actually the higher rpm you hit, the more engine sound you hear, thus the sound from the exhaust weaken. No drone whatsoever

Pay no attention to Mr. Kenchan. His pathology is such that he needs to poke fun a people he deems less intelligent or enlightened than he fancies himself.

Ok, sorry what is this mod he is talking about? Is it the one where you intentionally create an exhaust leak? Aren't you losing power?

Enjoy. I threw cherry bombs on a 71 Ford pickup and loved the sound. It sounded fast at least.
